How is it a plot hole that she saw the guy dead and knew the killer was there so she ran to avoid being killed? Or a plot hole that she saw whenever they were investigating was willing to kill an FBI...

um yes? she was at the scene of the crime. the guy who killed him would be long gone. she would have to explain why she was there and found him. picking up her kid should have been her first...
