We're talking about archetypes in storytelling.

Prometheus touches on archetypes (like nearly all stories/movies).
IMO, not in an overtly or strong way however...it's all surface.

I don't see a lot of parallels with Biblical mythology in Prometheus.
It's possible, of course, to do so if one wishes to.
IMO, Prometheus simply isn't deep enough to touch on sophisticated outside...

It wasn't just Covenant that had dumb characters...so did its predecessor.
According to Scott, no one is stupider than scientists. -rolleyes-
That's why it's called "Science FICTION." ;)

Audiences will always pay for another nightmare; there is no movie monster scarier...


IMO, we need one more film to tie Covenant to the Space Jockey in Alien.

IMO, that's just too silly.
To get THAT out of this movie is akin to pulling a rabbit out of a hat...or ass.

The science fiction works out better if Deckard is a replicant IMO.
However, other than "the eyes" scene, evidence is skimpy in the movie.

FWIW, many in the production of the movie thought of...

Scott's credibility was blown years ago when after-the-fact he decided Blade Runner would be a cooler movie if Deckard was interpreted as a replicant instead of human.
He was right, of course,...

I do find it amazing some folks want to interpret space monsters as Biblical metaphors in some sense, but it has never crossed my mind when watching these movies.
I think a better case could be...

Agreed.
Tip: if a person needs CliffsNotes to "understand" a movie, it's a shitty movie.

For me, Covenant was just "OK," but it wasn't the sequel to Prometheus I was hoping for. :(
