Re: Van Halen’s Definitive Live Album & Remasters.

Like the addition of the deeper album cuts. Too bad this wasn't the set list back when they were still worth seeing live.

Re: Van Halen’s Definitive Live Album & Remasters.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least if the upcoming tour with Roth was cut short or cancelled before it even started. Unless thing change, they are supposed to kick it off in this area in a couple...

Re: Van Halen’s Definitive Live Album & Remasters.

Re: Van Halen’s Definitive Live Album & Remasters.

I think both of those new tracks were as good, or better, than the average VH song. And yeah, I wish the rumors of a full time reunion would have happened back then rather than a couple years ago. ...

Re: Van Halen’s Definitive Live Album & Remasters.

I made it through the whole thing for the first time yesterday. The playing is quite good, including Wolfie on bass. Roth's vocals surprised me on some songs. "Hear About It Later" was especially...

Re: Van Halen’s Definitive Live Album & Remasters.

Basically the only clue on the outside packaging (that it's not from the 80's) is the 3 songs from the reunion record. I suspect there will be a lot of unaware fans wondering what the hell happened...

Re: Van Halen’s Definitive Live Album & Remasters.

Good point. Wouldn't surprise me at all if that was the primary reason.

I imagine a lot of people will miss the year it was recorded and wonder "what is this shit?"

Re: Van Halen’s Definitive Live Album & Remasters.

They really blew it by not creating a live album of the 1984 tour. I don't think I'm alone in not really being interested in hearing Wolfie on the bass and background vocals and a Roth that lost his...
