Re: Universal rebooting "The Mummy"

The only things they've been involved with that I enjoyed were the Trek films, and I liked those despite the screenplays, certainly not because of them.

Re: Universal rebooting "The Mummy"

It's like the Return of..., Revenge of..., and Curse of... titling scheme that affected both the Pink Panther and Halloween movies. Some of the Mummy titles seem truly random and make no sense at...

Re: Universal rebooting "The Mummy"

It doesn't look great and doesn't look awful. It just looks like every other movie, ever.

It's sad that we haven't gotten a really good mummy movie since, jeez... 1959? As much as I enjoy and will...

Re: Universal rebooting "The Mummy"

It's funny, James Cameron went around badmouthing AVP, saying that Fox was ruining the series by going that route. But then he actually saw the movie, and told an interviewer that he loved it and...

Re: Universal rebooting "The Mummy"

Precisely. And even if it was as bad as people make it out to be, it's two seconds in a 100-minute movie that's filled with a lot of ridiculous shit.

The way that people sometimes zero in on the...

Re: Universal rebooting "The Mummy"

Re: Universal rebooting "The Mummy"

I still fail to understand why that one little moment is the cause of so much venom-spewing hatred by so many people, but it's on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTE6S6x8ixA), so you can see...

Re: Universal rebooting "The Mummy"

I'll take The Mummy 1 and 3 over Indy 4 any day.

I think it's the best I've seen. Best mummy movie and best Hammer horror movie. It's a crime that movies like Horror of Dracula and Curse of...

Re: Universal rebooting "The Mummy"

I can understand people not liking Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (even though I thought it was much better than The Mummy Returns), but I always thought the hurricane-force negative response to it was...

Re: Universal rebooting "The Mummy"

A good movie, but not very threatening.

Re: Universal rebooting "The Mummy"

Christopher Lee in The Mummy (1959) is the only really threatening mummy I've seen, and I've seen quite a bit. It's like watching The Terminator made 25 years earlier. He walks quickly and in a...
