There's an extended cut? Shit, whatever version I saw felt like 3 hours. It was such an empty movie.

I finally watched this tonight and it was awful. The shootout scenes were fine, but the story sucked ass. I can see why this bombed in theaters and why Mann has not directed anything since.

There was an interesting article on Collider last week where Mann talks about his films, past and present, and the techniques used. If I remember correctly he also states that he is a revisionist....

Who knows but he's also super popular outside of the USA, so it really doesn't matter where the money comes from, as long as he gets paid a lot. It may take years of haggling but that's how it goes.

I know someone that works with Mann and was told the reason it took so long in between movies (Public Enemies) was so that Mann could get the amount of money he wanted for making a film. Mann makes...
