I never liked the word pathetic. It's a tad too old school. It just means "sad."

Good to see Gene Simmons continues to act like an asshole. I'm guessing he's never had a friend or family member suffer through addiction before.

Is this about to be a Michael Jackson situation?

Prince Investigation: Warrant Names Doctor Treating Star Before Death - NBC News
by Tracy Connor and Chris Francescani

Minnesota police investigating the death of Prince served a search warrant on a doctor who had seen him twice, prescribed him medication and showed up at Paisley Park to deliver test results only to learn the singer was dead, according to court documents.

The papers do not say why the 57-year-old star was seeing Dr. Michael Todd Schulenberg, what drugs he was prescribed or whether he ever picked them up at Walgreen's. Prince was reportedly seen at a local Walgreen's in the days before his death, but the drug giant has declined comment.

The search warrant affidavit details two doctor's visits — one on April 7, which was a week before Prince was taken unconscious off a plane in Moline, Illinois; and another on April 20, which was one day before his death.

"Some tests were performed on Prince and Dr. [Schulenberg] was dropping off the test results to Prince at Paisley Park when he appeared on the death scene," the document says.

The warrant — which was first reported by the Los Angeles Times — sought all medical records relating to Prince from North Memorial Medical Center, where Schulenberg worked.

Efforts to reach Schulenberg since Saturday were unsuccessful. His attorney did not respond to a request for comment. North Memorial Medical Center said he no longer works there but would not comment further.

Too bad it wasn't Gene Simmons who died and Prince was still alive and well. Everyone in life has problems and situations they have to deal with. Nobody is perfect, including that no talent hack Simmons.

Is it possible to get 3121 CD or download without paying a fortune at Ebay?

You can't get it at Itunes

Does anyone know why The Gold Experience (1995) is out of print? IMO, it is one of the last really good Prince records.

Most of his albums post 1994 are out of print. I believe a lot of it had to do with his battles with Warner Brothers over his masters. Sadly, once he got them back, we never got to find out what game plan may have been for re-issuing them. Pretty much everything he did after leaving WB was either issued by him directly via NPG, or licensed out to labels as joint ventures for a limited time, as part of his deals with them. That way, he maintained control over them, and pretty much used the majors for the promotional and distributional push they could give him, in exchange for them being able to say "We have the new Prince album". The only exceptions would likely be the last two records he released via WB when he re-signed with them - Art Official Age and PLECTRUMELECTRUM (with 3rdeyegirl) - but even then, I don't know what the specifics of the deal were.

Personally, I'd love to get The Gold Experience on vinyl. Pretty much all of his WB albums leading up to that one are being reissued on vinyl throughout the rest of this year (at least up to The Love Symbol album). From what I've read, these were already planned way in advance of his passing, and were only the first wave. Hopefully, the rest will follow suit next year. I can be patient.

Re: Prince dead at 57. RIP

From the Gold Experience on, Prince co-owned the albums with WB. When he left the label, he let those albums go out of print because that was the only petty thing he can do to WB, not that I blame him though.

The only version I've heard by Prince is that demo version duet with Appalonia, as it was originally a possible song for inclusion on an Appalonia 6 album. According to former Prince guitarist Dez Dickerson, the song had been around for some time, and he recalled working on early instrumental versions of it during his time as a band member.

You can listen to it at my house

I am beginning to be happy that I went on a big Prince kick back in 2006-2007 and bought up used copies of the Love Symbol album and The Gold Experience. 3121 and Lotusflower were new around that time. I would be extremely frustrated right now had I not done that.

Where do you live ?

The Love Symbol album seems to be the easiest to find since probably it had a lot of rap which turned off some people.

So Tipper Gore got pissed off because of Darling Nikki and supposedly it paved the way for the Parental Advisory sticker but Purple Rain never got that tag?

Meanwhile, 700 People Claim To Be Related To Prince.

In the wake of Prince’s unexpected death, nearly 700 men and women are trying their best to get a piece of Prince’s fortune, which is rumored to be nearing $1 billion. According to Harvey Morse, there’s only one person who stands to inherit some of Prince’s wealth, but that hasn’t stopped people from trying.

Our phone has been ringing off the hook, I would say we have received between 600 and 700 calls,” Morse said. “‘They run the gamut, literally from ‘We lived in the same area so we must be related’, to ‘We have pictures of Prince at our family reunion.’ “

Despite the overwhelming number of calls, Morse wants solid proof of the alleged blood-relationship of those claiming to be related to late music icon.

“But I like official documents,’ he said. “Birth, marriage, death, divorce certificates, census records, that sort of thing – papers that were drawn up without any thought of this eventuality.”

Prince is known to have one full sister, Tyka Nelson and five half-brothers and sisters Sharon, Norrine and John Nelson, Omarr Baker and Alfred Jackson. Of Prince’s half siblings, two are dead. Duane Nelson has a surviving granddaughter, Victoria who is entitled to her share, while Lorna Nelson died without having children.

On April 21, Prince was found dead in an elevator at his Paisley Park compound. He was 57.
