James Gunn had a Facebook Live Q & A last Sunday answering questions about Vol 2. You can view it but only if you've seen because he does talk spoilers.

The one I posted was a daily shirt a qwertee, so it isn't available anymore. I imagine it will show up at one of the other daily tee sites before long though (ript, shirtpunch, etc. TeeFury seems to be shying away from Disney designs the last several months, makes me think they got hit with a cease and desist). If people are interested, I'll post if I notice it popping up anywhere else.

I just can't get on board with this. His head was so unnaturally large he reminded me of Jerry Lewis during his steroid addiction:

What's the deal with the arrow thing Yondu had? It's like that thing was the most powerful weapon in the movie, why doesn't everyone have one?

I'm going again on Tuesday (3rd viewing). I had planned to go this week, but my schedule was just too packed.

Finally going to see this today with the wife. My dad died just prior to opening day, and my wife's twin had emergency surgery shortly after. Life just gets in the way sometimes... We're using GotG2 as our 36th anniversary celebration...

Yea it probably will be. It was for me and my dad passed when I was 4...this movie really struck a chord with me. Orbi I hope nothing but the best for you. I really hope you enjoy this. For me your reviews are a sense of relief and you are on of the few I enjoy reading. I look forward to your report...

I disagree. It may have had something to do with his luxurious feathered/layered hair he was sporting.

I'm sure that was intentional. Hopefully he's an adult by Vol 3.

Re: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (Gunn, 2017) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Got around to seeing this today.

Reliably entertaining Marvel movie. Not much to say that hasn't been said. I didn't know the Ego plot was going to be the main plot, until halfway into the climax. I thought it was headed towards a bigger Thanos or Infinity Gem story - maybe involving the gold-colored people.

The fun thing about Marvel, is that their movies belong to the director 20% and Marvel 80%. So Branagh gets to do fantasy Shakespeare with Thor. Gunn gets to bring his purposely uneven style with all the musical numbers. Joss Whedon gets to do his deconstruction thing. Edgar Wright gets to ... oh wait.

Re: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (Gunn, 2017) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

The first movie felt like lightning in a bottle, and I don't think Gunn was wholly successful in recapturing it. Much of it landed, but some of the humor felt forced, some of the music didn't gel, and splitting the group up for most of the movie was a mistake, IMO.

That being said, I did enjoy it. Russell looked like he was having a blast and I enjoyed the fleshing out of Yondu and Nebula. I'd give it a 3.5/5, definitely fun but not quite the slam dunk of the first.

I gotta disagree on the splitting up. I think it gave the flick time to spend with the individual characters rather than having to give splinters of characterizations as a group.
