See.. I don't think Shannon had a lot to work with in the direction w/ Zod. I hate Zod for the most part. He's pretty generic. Interesting? Sure. But... Shannon has damn near the same expression through it all.
I think Shannon could have been a great Zod but just the direction of it all is just very boring for him.

The Krypton scenes are awesome in my opinion. Loved Crowe as Jor-El and honestly Shannon was pretty good as Zod too even though I think the parts with Zod are what later bring the overall film down. The whole opening is one of the best things about Man of Steel to me personally. I also don't mind Clark wandering and helping people and the flashbacks to his childhood. The action sequences are when the film falls apart. Like I said shortly after he discovers the ship and his suit is when the film falls apart to me. I don't mind seeing him testing out his powers but the confrontations with Zod and company are what drag the film down. Also I agree about the colors being way too dreary.

I kind of blanked out the Jonathan Kent death scene. Yeah that's pretty bad. I guess for the most part though I was able to stomach the film up until about the part I mentioned. Costner's Pa Kent isn't very well written but for the most part he didn't bother me too badly until the ridiculous tornado scene.

I'd be interested in seeing that but also don't think it'd be all that clean of an experience based on what that guy has after the fact of just being able to use the released film.
Along w/ that... I don't think the Williams score will ever fit right w/ the visual. And the colors still look off. Appreciated but never looking as clean as one would appreciate it. Again... the lack of tech details not had by this creator.
Still... I'd want to see it to see how much sense it can make of it.

I agree Williams's score doesn't necessarily fit the action depicted in Man of Steel, which is much more frenetic than anything seen in the original Superman films. The re-coloring does wonders, it would have been nice to see a glimpse of it in Batman v Superman. It does look like Snyder dialed back on the muted Superman colors in BvS, we get a more normal blue and red in his costume. Of course, everything else remained grim and gritty.

Wtf is with they ugly gray sheen Snyder likes? The statue, buildings, etc. Jesus. Someone needs to slap him and let him know it's ok to have some color in there.
In MoS, it's fucking everywhere. If it hits near the gray spectrum it's a bland sheen that's ugly no matter what. And Damn near everything Kryptonian is like that.

Good. I loved Man of Steel and Cavill deserves another solo shot. With Johns at the helm, maybe Superman's resurrection will bring HOPE to the DCU.

If this even happens at all, I wonder if Zack Snyder asks to be the director of it "just to complete his vision for the character", and if WB actually allows it for all the flak they're getting right now that stems mostly from his hiring and starting up this dreary, grimdark universe.
