From everything I'm reading I'm getting a vibe of the same old, same old; been-there, done-that; anti-science; Frankenstein-morality themed tale of anti-intellectual, human hubris that stained pretty much every Michael Crichton story and those derived from his works.

They're dinosaurs. No one expects an introspective think piece from a Godzilla or King Kong movies, I'm not sure why the Jurassic movies are held to a different standard.

That's what I've been telling everyone that didn't like JW.
I watched a raptor ride a T-rex while fighting a new, nasty dino. Who gives a shit if some of the characterization wasn't solid? I don't watch these movies for the people.

I don't mind if it continues on the whole fucking w/ nature thing. But I do mind is crap scripting and characters. The dinos were neat but it's a lot of shit to get to the good stuff... which at times is just alright.

Justice Smith has joined the cast of the upcoming “Jurassic World” sequel, sources confirmed to Variety.
Rafe Spall and Toby Jones also recently boarded the film. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are returning to star in the second installment.
Sources say Smith will be playing a young scientist in the movie.
J.A. Bayona will direct with Frank Marshall producing, along with Pat Crowley and Belén Atienza. Colin Trevorrow, who helmed “Jurassic World,” penned the script with his writing partner, Derek Connolly. Trevorrow will also exec produce with Steven Spielberg.
“Jurassic World” blew away box office records last year, scoring the biggest domestic debut of all time with $208.8 million. The film went on to haul $1.7 billion worldwide — including $652.3 million in the U.S. — making it the fourth highest-grossing movie in history, domestically and worldwide.
Smith was the breakout star of the Netflix music drama “The Get Down” from director Baz Luhrmann. He will next appear in the Off-Broadway play “Yen” at the MCC Theater opposite “Manchester by the Sea” star Lucas Hedges.
He is repped by WME and Kohl Group.

Nah ... JW2 picks up immediately after the end of JW. While leaving the island after "the incident" the helicopter of Pratt and BDH is caught up in an unusual tropical storm. The pilot is killed when a piece of debris (hurled by the storm winds) impales him. The helicopter crashes on another, unnamed, island. But things here aren't exactly as they should be ... Dinosaurs have evolved into the dominant intelligent species and they keep humans in zoo-like theme parks!

Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt will return for the J.A. Bayona-directed follow-up, which recently added The Get Down's Justice Smith.
All plot and character details are being kept under wraps, but it is probably safe to expect loads of dinosaurs.
