The Editor (2014) -- (D:Brooks,Kennedy - Astron 6)

I was reminded about this one because of the Kung Fury thread, so I figured I'd try to give this one a bit more exposure. I'm not involved in it in any way, but I saw it at my local film fest last year, and absolutely loved it.

Apparently Shout! Factory has the Blu-ray rights now, so it should be available that way "soon". I don't know if it's available for streaming or anything, but... check it out. It's crazy, hilarious, and amazing.

Synopsis:
Spoiler:
Rey Ciso was once the greatest editor the world had ever seen. Since a horrific accident left him with four wooden fingers on his right hand, he's had to resort to cutting pulp films and trash pictures. When the lead actors from the film he's been editing turn up murdered at the studio, Rey is fingered as the number one suspect. The bodies continue to pile up in this absurdist giallo-thriller as Rey struggles to prove his innocence and learn the sinister truth lurking behind the scenes.

Bumping this thread because it was exactly a year ago when I got this:

Oh and apparently it's streaming on Shudder now or soon. I still think everyone should watch it. Best giallo spoof out there.

I loved it, but it's definitely a film where you have to be intimately familiar with the genre being spoofed (giallo) or the movie will be totally boring to you

I'm still bummed that Astron-6 disbanded but am very happy that every member is working on different projects, with Steven Kostanski probably being the most active member in the industry right now.

The group had a reunion of sorts, as they are all in Kostanski's 2020 film, Psycho Goreman.
