Nice! That's a great show. Might as well use that version of GA.

And Michael Bay isn't?

He hasn't made anything really good since The Island (Transformers are a guilty pleasure). I'm not saying he doesn't have directional vision, but he doesn't pick the greatest projects as of late. I still need to see Pain and Gain though, that looks like fun.

Michael Bay is a genius whose films make hundreds of millions in the theater.

Uwe Boll is a hack whose straight to video movies are seen by hundreds at home.

I want to see Wayne Manor and Gotham blow up. EXPLOSIONS EVERYWHERE!!!

Just because you make more mainstream movies that makes millions doesn't make you a genius filmmaker. By that notion, Stanley Kubrick sucked as a director.

That said, I was obviously kidding about Uwe Boll. I winked, but I guess that wasn't enough.

The best thing Kubrick ever did was convince Nicole Kidman to get naked.

Other than that. Meh.

Nope. Never seen a single Kubrick movie all the way thru. Truth.

I fast forward to the Kidman nudie scenes, but have no fucking idea what that movie is about. But, as I've heard (read), no one does, so it's okay.

This is a joke, right? The man that turned the Star Trek franchise into Star Wars-lite and also supposed to be the man behind the actual Star Wars movie, will now ruin Batman?

Re: Man of Steel (Snyder, 2013) — The Reviews Thread (Part II)

I'll get us back on track:

Superman, in this movie, is a murderer because he wasn't able to save everybody because he was too busy out trying to save everybody.

You're welcome.

What PatD wrote.

I guess humor or the mention of Uwe Boll is not allowed in a review thread.

Re: Man of Steel (Snyder, 2013) — The Reviews Thread (Part II)

Is this week the last IMAX showing for the film? I might have to catch it one more time on Sunday, if so.

I looked up showings in my area and it shows nothing past Sunday, even though there are no new IMAX movies starting this weekend.

Should be showing until Tuesday.

Is Lone Ranger or Despicable Me 2 in IMAX?

Re: Man of Steel (Snyder, 2013) — The Reviews Thread (Part II)

From www.NerdBastards.com:

"Leave to the internet to look for something that probably isn’t there, but the rumor du jour suggests that some cunning visual effects people slipped in a couple of seconds of footage in Man of Steel where new Superman Henry Cavill morphs into 80s Superman Christopher Reeve. The effect is subtle, that is to say I can’t see it, but the below GIF does make it look as though there was some kind of tinkering. Or perhaps it’s just the lighting effect of the scene in question."

^ Yeah, I read that and I think that's just people letting their imagination get the better of them.
