We saw so many of his movies at the drive in one summer. They just had a bunch of the Sinbad movies playing in double features. Loved his stuff from the first time I saw it and it still looks so cinemay today. A great great fantasy movie guy.

Re: Ray Harryhausen (1920-2013)
Ooo, ooo, I have a Harryhausen story. I was enamored with his stop motion technique since I was a kid in the mid-60s. When I was in the 11th grade, I interviewed actor Tony Craig, who was on the soap The Edge of Night (1977). We discovered we both had a great appreciation of Ray Harryhausen, and a few weeks later, a package from Craig arrived at my house. It was several dozen pages photocopied from old Famous Monsters of Filmland magazines, some going back to the 50s, of articles about Ray Harryhausen and his movies. I don't know if this image will show up, but it's two of the photocopied pages. Since 1977, I have expanded this notebook to rare magazines, comics, and stills. It's one of my prized possessions.

Truly saddened by this. Ray's work means more to me than I can clearly put into words.
RIP Ray Harryhausen!

One year at ComicCon I was walking around and spotted Harry sitting at a booth deep in conversation with someone. I then realized the other person was Clive Barker. I always thought that would be an interesting collaboration.
