I liked the Dory character so I'll see it regardless but for those you didn't care for her maybe the Finding Dory title indicates that Dory will have little screen time and the ones looking for her will have the majority. Nemo wash necessarily the lead in part one.
My attempt at humor. I know that's what they did with Cars 2.

I'm glad they have some original projects in their pipeline, but it's been lean times lately. For the last 4 years there's only been one original Pixar film.
2010 Toy Story 3
2011 Cars 2
2012 Brave
2013 Monsters 2
My 5 year old only knows them as making sequels to movies she's seen at home.

I can't count Tink since that started as a DTV franchise, and they're surprisingly decent.
I'll have to echo the general sentiment, this does kinda suck. Prior to TS3 we got Incredibles, Wall-e, Up & Ratatouille. I'm not bummed but I really want Pixar to get back on the original track. Looking more forward to the two other movies mentioned in the article.
I have a 6 year old and that never crossed my mind. That does suck.

Cinderella 3 was early 2007, only a few months after Pixar was acquired. It was long since scheduled and prepped before Lasseter got there. Little Mermaid 2 was 2000.
As far as those Tinkerbell things, those are not really sequels to Peter Pan but their own fairy tales, so to speak.

Cars 2 was an obvious cash grab (still haven't seen it), but the other sequels have all come 10+ yrs later. And as pointed out they have three originals coming as well. I'm more concerned about them going on a two films per year schedule... hopefully it's maybe every other year or something.
Quality wise, MU is a toss-up (though at least everyone likes the main characters), but I'm confident Nemo will follow the quality of the Toy Story sequels.

Can someone explain to me why there was no Pixar film this year. Last film was Monster U in June 2013 next film is Inside Out slated for June 2015. What happened?

There are two coming out next year, Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur, so they must be busy this year working on those, plus it looks like they're doubling up again in 2017.

Also, according to the OP, The Good Dinosaur was supposed to be released this year. So they weren't planning on making 2014 Pixar-less.

Disney•Pixar's “Finding Dory” reunites everyone’s favourite forgetful blue tang, Dory, with her friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to speak Whale?
Directed by Andrew Stanton (“Finding Nemo,” “WALL•E”) and produced by Lindsey Collins (co-producer “WALL•E”), the film features the voices of Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Ed O'Neill, Kaitlin Olson, Ty Burrell, Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton. Finding Dory swims into cinemas Summer 2016.

Wow, now we're making fun of people with memory problems? Classy Pixar!
Surprised it took them this long to churn out a sequel to Finding Nemo, it was certainly ripe for it.

It's surprising how long they can go between sequels. Someone who was eight when Finding Nemo came out will be 21 when this is released. Eleven years passed between Toy Story sequels, 12 years from Monsters Inc to MU.
It will be 15 years between Incredibles movies. That's almost the same as the gap from Jedi to Phantom Menace. I guess it's a testament to the evergreen status of Pixar's movies. My almost four year old loves Nemo.

Finding Dory First Look: Check out Dory's new sea-bound friends
In Pixar’s 'Finding Dory,' the forgetful blue fish from 'Finding Nemo' sets out on a memorable adventure — and meets some gigantic new pals.

Like lots of grown-ups, Modern Family star Ty Burrell felt a bit emotional the first time he saw Pixar’s Oscar-winning 2003 underwater adventure Finding Nemo.
“I’m a huge fan,” he says. “It’s hard to find that balance of very sweet, very funny and great adventure in a story.” But that’s precisely what Nemo director Andrew Stanton is hoping to recapture in his highly anticipated follow-up. Set six months after the first film ends, Finding Dory sees the forgetful blue tang (voiced again by Ellen DeGeneres) on a mission to find her long-lost parents. Along the way, she visits the rehabilitation center at marine life facility where she meets Burrell’s snub-nosed beluga whale, Bailey, and his pal Destiny, a sweet whale shark voiced by It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia actress Kaitlin Olson.
“My character isn’t great at his own sonar capability, and Destiny has trouble swimming straight,” Burrell explains. Together, the offbeat duo — seen in the above concept art for the first time — play an important role in reuniting Dory with her loved ones. (But only if they can manage to get along first.)
“We totally get on each other’s nerves,” Olson reveals. “I like to think I’m a shark, but Bailey calls me a whale, and I make fun of his head, because it’s gigantic.”
Though Burrell and Olson hadn’t worked together since playing a couple in the short-lived TV series Out of Practice more than 10 years ago, playing up their chemistry in the recording booth didn’t prove difficult. “We would just play off each other,” Olson says. “Though to be honest, I was probably the boss of the entire situation, because I always like to be.”
For the record, however, Destiny is definitely more kid-friendly than Olson’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia character Sweet Dee, a bartender with a feisty attitude and a foul-mouthed vocabulary to match.
“I’m a lot nicer in this movie than I am in my television show,” shares Olson, laughing. “You don’t really see Sweet Dee being sweet, ever. This character is. It was a lot of fun to play that and be vulnerable.”
Costarring Albert Brooks, Diane Keaton, Willem Dafoe, Dominic West, Ed O’Neill, Eugene Levy and Idris Elba, Finding Dory plays up the storytelling style that have made Pixar films such a hit with kids and adults alike.
“There’s always a deeper message with Pixar, and so much of it [in Finding Dory] is that these characters are trying to find faith in themselves,” says Burrell. “They’re trying to overcome their insecurities in order to help somebody in need.”
Finding Dory swims into theaters June 17, 2016.

Was Jim Varney born on Feb. 29? Or did he just die at 50? Not sure why you would include him since he won't be in Toy Story 4.
