I liked that one...it's a good book to read before diving into REBELS.

I'm reading TARKIN now and struggling to get through it...I'm not a big fan of the writer (he gets sidetracked into too many technical and political explanations for my reading tastes).

So when is this new trailer supposed to come out? I thought it was fairly soon...

Isn't it coming with Age of Ultron?

Abrams and Kennedy are doing a panel at Celebration Anaheim in three weeks. That would be a perfect time to debut the second trailer.

With the Avengers as expected! I do wonder if it'll debut at Celebration first and then online before Avengers though.

Was the teaser trailer strictly online? It never played in theaters right?

No, it played in front of all movies at a few select theaters last November.

Looks like we should get to see the trailer in a couple weeks since it's premiering at that convention. At least a leaked version.

I'm going to the con. The Abrams/Kennedy panel that launches the show is being simulcast to all the other stages so everyone can see it, so it's a good bet there's going to be a new trailer.

I figured that the trailer would be attached to AOU. I remain eternally curious if they'll make any OOT announcement at the con.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (12/18/2015, Abrams) S: Hamill, Ford, Fi

The Abrams/Kennedy opening panel at Star Wars Celebration is going to be simulcast to numerous theaters and venues overseas - no word yet if it's going to be simulcast anywhere in the States.

Technology is to the point where they could broadcast all this stuff live over the Internet...why they don't do this with some of these big conventions is beyond me...even if there's a charge for it. I'd happily drop $20 or $30 to see the panels at a large convention live. I guess they never bother with it because they know a bootleg is going to go up on the Net as soon as the panel is over anyway.

I have inside info too. My cousin's husband's father's co-worker's friend's roommate's dog told me.

That's a serious, stealthy prognosis.

That's a deep deep inside info source. Your avatar is a ninja doctor. Are you a ninja butt doctor? Use stealth to do a surprise colonoscopy on people? Sneak up behind someone and stick a probe up someone's butt and be like, "Surprise motherfucker!"

Seems like the kind of thing they'd wait just a little longer to release on May 4th, doesn't it?

A little poking around on Google unearthed this, though: http://yakfaceforums.com/main/2015/0...oming-to-vudu/

If true, I hope it is the OOT. If it is the 2004 versions, then no deal. Although I will wait for the BD regardless. I don't like buying digital media.

If this is true, then why has it not been advertised? It's only a week away and we are just now seeing it advertised? That makes no sense.

It's been known for a while (maybe not officially) that the Star Wars movies would be making their digital debuts this year, but there's no way this will be anything other than the 2011 blu-ray versions. I am still 99.9% convinced that Disney will release the originals at some point, but they are not going to do so without plenty of fanfare.

Yeah, I think if the OT was happening this yr we would've heard some rumblings by now. Just imagine a fresh 4k scan, color corrected...

Yeah, that was my thinking too that they would not "stealth release" the OOT. That will get tons of advertising when/if it happens. I think there is a good chance we may see the OOT on BD in 2017 for the 40th anniversary. Doesn't that make you feel old to know that Star Wars is almost 40 years old...

If this is the OOT, I'm spending a night with Alison Brie sometime next week. There just isn't any way in hell. Love to be wrong.

Re: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (12/18/2015, Abrams) S: Hamill, Ford, Fi

The only release period I could see the OOT on BluRay coming out would be November/December this year to tie into TFA. That way they can promote it with Ford, Fisher and Hamill and it could be one big nostalgia trip with the fans with the new movie and the original cuts.

But with all of the legal issues, it probably won't happen for another few years.
