i think most of his foreign stuff was released by miramax/dimension off the success of Lethal Weapon 4 (dubbed too)

I remember seeing Lethal Weapon 4 in theaters and being very impressed. The whole audience was like "who the hell is this guy?!".

That movie hasn't seemed to age too well in the public's eye, but it is still the only movie I've ever attended where the entire audience was clapping and stood to their feet as the movie ended on opening day. I think its release on the 4th of July added to the atmosphere.
