I will take a break from my Ridley-shitting to say I did like the director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven. The theatrical was almost incomprehensible though.

I fear this new BR will be too prosaic to be memorable. The original was so wonderfully, quotably bizarre. It would be impossible to replicate it.

This is probably going to sound contradictory since I like the original and am eagerly anticipating this one but I was watching Blade Runner about two weeks ago and fell asleep about halfway though it. It was the best nap I'd had in years.

Anyways, I liked the little short. Really seemed to capture the feel of the world.

I get lulled to sleep by movies I love all the time.

I guess this is where Scott had some input, by doing another damn short to "connect" the stories, a-la Prometheus/Covenant. For me, this is shot with fucking Leto in this. And I wonder if this is true. My friend sent me this, and if it's legit, that's a long ass run time. I predict RichC2 will be asleep within the first 2 hours and 20 min.

Most likely, I like getting a good nap in when I can.
I just got a survey about this movie on my Google Opinion Rewards app, guess they're still trying to figure out how to sell it. It seems they have a lot of Blade Runner fans on board, but it hasn't crossed over into general audience territory.

Is this a dream? A memory? Is it my memory? Is it even a real memory? Am I even real?
Wasn't that the problem with Blade Runner though?

I know I've read anecdotal stories of fans dressed as Han Solo and Indiana Jones wandering out of the lobby in a daze after watching it back in the day.
I think it has enough awareness now that targeting the marketing shouldn't be the issue, but instead making sure people don't dismiss it out of hand as a cash-in sequel.

Doesn't seem like any of Jóhannsson's score will be used now.

Academy Award Nominee and Golden Globe winner Jóhann Jóhannsson is no longer attached to the film Blade Runner 2049. He was announced as the film's sole composer in August 2016, and in July this year, it was reported that Hans Zimmer would join him due to Jóhann's busy schedule.
The film's latest poster now only shows Zimmer's name. Jóhann's agent has confirmed to Fréttablaðið that the Icelandic composer is no longer involved with the film in any capacity, though he is prohibited from saying anything at this point due to his contract.
Blade Runner 2049 is the sequel to the 1982 film Blade Runner. It is directed by Denis Villeneuve, who has collaborated with Jóhann on a number of his films, such as Sicario, Prisoners, and Arrival. The film is scheduled to be released globally October 6th.

Damn the score that was used for the Trailers was bad ass. What a damn shame. I like Zimmer but Bladerunner's soundtrack was too amazing and should be replicated somehow, someway.

In fact, the more i see of this movie the more it feels less like a Blade Runner sequel at all and just some generic Sci-Fi movie. I really hope that they nail it, but my optimism has been taking a lot of hits with it recently.

There's no evidence Jóhann Jóhannsson was responsible for the trailer music. Typically trailer music is farmed out to other musicians.

I like the music of the 2nd trailer the best but I can't find the composer.
