It's really not hard to understand. Also..the jacket is very old school. I dunno if he got it as a stuntman but a lot of old stunt guys had those. Stuntman Mike for example had a jacket of such fabric.

Bronson is on Netflix now if anyone cares to get any insight on this director.

Ha, I'll never watch that crap. I actually love movies with this kind of pace without a lot of dialogue. This one I would have considered above average with a different soundtrack. Still some stupid stuff.

The first ten minutes of this are probably the closest we will ever have to a live-action Grand Theft Auto movie. It captures the look and atmosphere perfectly.

No surprise it's currently the most watched instant movie.

Here's an article from Collider discussing a possible sequel:

**********************************************

Personally, as much as I like the film I think I'd rather they left well enough alone.

Saw this on netflix and it was very good. I did get a Theif vibe from it. But I did think the elevator scene was a bit much.

Nice to know that there's a sequel. I have requested a copy over at the library.

Yeah, I think it'd be to leave Drive alone. The ending was perfect for that character. Never read the book, though I do want to, so I'm not sure how that ends in there.

The sequel sounds like a decent idea. A sequel just seems oddly fitting for a movie like this one. More of the same plot line of course, but it's about style. If they got Gosling and Refn back I'd totally be there, and likely a lot of other people.

If Refn and Gosling were game...well...I guess I'd be game.

Same here....I still love this flick just the same as the first time I watched it (and have watched it many times since). I honestly couldn't see things being bad for a sequel if Refn and Gosling returned.

I guess I need to re-watch this movie. I saw it when it opened and thought it was good in terms of acting and the retro-80s vibe, but wasn't as floored as critics and other people on this forum.

I was that way after my first time seeing it but I've liked it more with each additional viewing of it.

Saw this on Netflix. Excellent movie, with a terrific understated performance by Gosling.
After the elevator scene, I had to check IMDB to see if it was directed by David Cronenberg.

I'm OK with a possible sequel given that it would be based on a sequel novel by the original author.

But part of me doesn't like the idea of sequel because...
Spoiler:

...it would erase the ambiguity of the film's ending where the Driver may be driving off to die due to his stab wound. It's an ending that I interpret as being a kind of Shane-like ending in which the last cowboy of the Wild West is mortally wounded and going off on his own, presumably to die, and never be seen again.

I don't think that it was supposed to be ambiguous. In fact, the movie goes out of its way to show you it's not with that long take on him sitting there.
