I...I can't tell if you're serious or not but.....well this was made before First Class. And...let's be honest. LoTR for all it's money didn't really make VM a mainstream star. It merely brought a solid actor to more eyes and he's done well w/ it.

So I saw this today, and thought it was all right. Then again I did not know what it was about at all, except that Freud was a character and it took place during WWI. It was entertaining though, and now that I've seen more of Fassbender (yeah I've seen Shame but not in that respect!) I was intrigued.

Keira Knightley is embarrassingly bad here. And the film is quite dull despite Fassbender, who is impressive.

I loved this film. Made my top 10 of the year. Subtle, smart, engaging. Cronenberg always brings the goods.

Havent heard much about the flick. Is it limited release or something? I really want to see it.

Really good. Outstanding acting all around and well directed by Cronenberg. Not the sort of material you're used to seeing Cronenberg work on, but he did it with ease. This is a pure drama, so I can see why others would be bored by it though.
Also thought the cinematography was great, some really nice shots of the Swiss and Austrian countrysides.

Viggo came in to my shop on Saturday and got a haircut. Nice guy, very lean, his hair is on the grey-er side.

Some parts seemed very un-Cronenberg like but I felt there were similarities to this and Dead Ringers. I loved the dialogue in this too.

seen this a week or so ago.
Quite a nice film. Was an interesting subject and asked many questions in regard to the characters and us as humans. Overall I enjoyed it. Editing could have been a bit tighter but other than that everything else seemed strong.
I will say,
Overall a solid film. One of the better ones from this year.

Indeed, he's one of the few directors I whose commentaries I look forward to, even for what I consider his lesser films. (I believe the only one of his commentaries I gave up on was for Naked Lunch, since I just couldn't get into this insular world of Burroughs references.)
