GAD! Jonas Brothers in 3D! I can think of nothing more horrible; as soon as they hit puberty they are finished.
As for Mall Cop, I think it looks funny; not $7.00 funny but DVD rental funny.

They are 21, 19, and 16 years old. If they haven't hit puberty by now I'm a little scared for them.

Mall Cop probably made tons of money because of all the stacks of "free" tickets at Best Buy.
And how many teens paid to see Mall Cop but went to see MBV instead?

It would depend on how many teens brought their own 3D glasses with them, as they weren't going to get a pair without a MBV ticket (or they'd have to go rummaging through the glasses return bin.)

I'll take Kevin James over Clint Eastwood if I was forced to choose. I don't really find Kevin James funny, but I really dislike Clint Eastwood on a personal level. I didn't see either movie.
Now they just need to work on not letting the horrible Emma Roberts (Hotel for Dogs) do any more movies, television, etc.

When I saw MBV on Friday evening, the line was swamped mostly with teens/kids for Mall Cop. It's a harmless little kids movie that found it's target audience. The trivial shit that people get their panties in a bunch over these days is amazing.

Not completely, MBV was playing in a good deal of 2D screens. Here in Atlanta there is only one screen playing the 3D version, and that theater has a 2D playing as well.

Silly me, forgetting about MBV 2D (since I only saw advertising for the 3D for the past month or so). Either way, the trailer for Paul Blart was always a hit with the crowds when I saw the trailer at the movies (and I see a lot of movies at the theaters), so no surprise to see that it opened well since it is truly a harmless comedy (I enjoyed seeing Jayma Mays in the flick as well) with promises of a lot of visual fat-dude comedy bits.

I have no idea why anyone would want to see MBV in 2D it was painful enough in 3D. I saw Slumdog Millionaire this weekend as well and both shows were packed. Truly a wonderful movie and well worth the money spent.

It's pretty hard to text while wearing 3D glasses so I doubt any would mind much.

It just wouldn't be DVDTalk without people complaining about the American audience on a weekly basis.

James is a terrific comedienne and he was great on "King of Queens". As was the show. And I'm sure "Paul Blart" is terrible. But I'd rather watch that than sit through "Gran Torino" ever again.

Seriously - what's with all the gripes about Mall Cop? It's a family comedy that looks to be along the lines of Home Alone. Should parents be choosing between My Bloody Valentine and Gran Torino when deciding what to take the kids to this weekend? A bunch of kids went, hopefully they laughed some, and they went home. Don't worry - American cinema will live to fight another day.
