I agree, too, on a "Carnival of Souls" upgrade, and I'll be first in line to buy the BD of "Grand Budapest Hotel."
I also wouldn't mind "Idiocracy," given how poorly Fox has treated it.

Re: Movies Desperately Needing Criterion Treatment
I also really don't think "Criterion worthy" really means what it used to. These days it seems to mean what they can get the rights to and which directors the decision makers have a hard on for.

Altman's Vincent and Theo. It would be nice to have Blu-ray versions of a restored theatrical cut and the longer Euro TV cut in widescreen.

And there's even a certain director who has had a Criterion edition of every one of his films.

I'd love to see either Criterion or someone like Shout! do a comprehensive edition of Army of Darkness, with all three cuts in high definition.

OPPO Blu-ray players will let you move the position of subtitles up or down, so long as they're electronically-generated and not burned into the film print. If you move them down enough, you can push them off the screen. I believe there are specific models of other brands that have this feature as well, though I don't have a list.

You're talking about the English subtitles that occur during Spanish dialogue? That's not supposed to be translated?

Re: Criterion Wish List
I'm sure its already been said, but Richard Linklater's Before Trilogy desperately needs a Criterion Blu Ray box set.
