DVD Talk Joins Internet Brands

DVD Talk Ultimate Edition
Congrats on the sale, Geoff!
For those who aren't familiar with how online advertising works, even if IB didn't change a thing, they could still generate more revenue through DVDTalk than Geoff could by himself. I'm sure IB already has relationships with blue-chip clients that Geoff could never get in the door with as a single entity, and since I'm sure they sell across multiple sites, DVDTalk will now be included in much wider buys. I'm sure they'll be bumping up CPM rates for the site as well. And once IB gets some other entertainment sites under their umbrella as well, then DVDTalk will be even more valuable to sell against since you can target more likeminded eyeballs.

I can't believe I did not notice this until I read it in Home Media the other day (an old issue at that). I guess the changes thus far have been very small.

Since all 3 are long term DVD Talkers expect the same 'voice' of the site to continue as it has.

I get the feeling IB will start making changes in the future, once the dust has settled. Can't post this way, can't post that way, can't post these kinds of images (oops, we already have that), can't use this kind of language, etc.

DVD Polizei I've seen no indication that IB intend to be so "hands on" &/or "controlling". And I can't really see it happening with the current mod/admin line-up in place. Just my two pennies.
