Finally picked up a copy of Savage Streets today.
Hopefully I'll get a chance to watch it on Sunday night.

I've never seen Savage Streets, but I'm tempted to blind buy this. Is it just non-stop gratuitous violence, sex-nudity and really bad acting?
Sounds like great 80's entertainment.

Linda Blair,Linnea Quigley, & John Vernon were all great in it....
There's enough to violence & nudity to keep you happy....
It's a damn good revenge flick....

I watched Savage Streets at the New Beverly last week (in 35mm!) and it was fucking awesome! The revenge action is relegated to the last third or so of the flick, but the rest of it is so awesome and over-the-top that it was a blast. John Vernon had some of the best lines. Highly recommended.

From DVD Drive-In:
Still no Sweet Sixteen at Netflix?
On December 30, as part of its “Exploitation Cinema” double feature series, BCI will at last unleash the uncut version of HORROR HIGH (aka THE TWISTED BRAIN) as part of a double feature with Roberta Findlay’s LURKERS. All past video releases of HOROR HIGH have been culled from edited TV prints; this DVD version finally presents the film in its theatrical incarnation, as according to BCI, “The uncut version has been often requested by genre fans for several years.” On the same date, the “Exploitation Cinema” series recreates an authentic, schlocky 1969 double bill of NIGHTMARE IN WAX starring Cameron Mitchell and Al Adamson’s BLOOD OF DRACULA’S CASTLE starring John Carradine and Jennifer Bishop. Both double feature DVDs will retail for $12.98.

But, it is boring, slow, and the kills are pretty tame.
It has a quality about it that makes it pretty enjoyable, though.

But it doesn't make sense to me unless he is counting on the trailers before or after....

Sucks about Mausoleum being cut, I still plan on picking it up though. I love these Grindhouse DVDs, they are great to watch on a boring saturday or sunday. I wish BCI would release Savage Streets in this series

I think I remember reading there were some issues with the rights to Star Crash, although I can't remember where I read that now.

I just finished watching the interviews on the second disc of Savage Streets, and man is Johnny Venocur a creepy, jittery, unfunny guy. I could only get through half his interview before I had to skip ahead to the next one. I wanted to throttle him. All of Linda Blair's delectable baby fat is gone - she looks like Linda Hamilton circa Terminator 2.

I watched Savage Streets a couple weeks ago, and boy that was an over the top, sleazy, psychotic hour and a half of awesome. Linda Blair's tits, punks, wearing sunglasses at night, neon lights, John Vernon, HORRIBLE 80's music...everything these movies should have.
