These look like a good deal. Right now I am am running an onkyo 575 with 3 way tower speakers for mains (12" woofers) and I was going to use 2 of these for surrounds...no sub or center channel yet....what do you think?

These speakers are great! My friends just bought the quintet set-up with a 12" sub and they are LOUD! They sound awesome. Just be prepared to deal with your neighbors. $39 each sounds like a great deal. I'd jump all over that.

I just put in a bid on two for surround sounds. Will end up having those, an Infinity CC1 center, Onkyo 12" 3 way mains, and an AudioSource SW15 15" subwoofer. How's that for a mix and match system. :P

fyi, they usually start low and head higher on ubid... be careful, since a pair can be had for about 130 -140 (I think at Vanns.com) via the net....

They are good value for the money...

4 of em and the center in a package were about 340 last I checked at vanns

for 50 bucks or so these are an excellent deal. they receive very good reviews and work great as surrounds. if you have a receiver that has a slightly less than warm sound to it, you may not want these as your mains. but a great deal for surrounds!

ubid price is usually EACH and you have to buy them in pairs. make sure you check out vanns.com.. They usually offer free shipping, so make sure ubid is LOWER first. If it's close, Vanns pays return shipping on defective merchandise (if the policy hasn't changed)

Also, you will should get a separate powered sub...
