I have a question about "School Rumble Season 1".

Whats the difference between the original singles and the DVD Box 1? Is it better to get the singles and the tin locker box?

It's personal preference. Some people never liked those tin lockers. The singles also had a bonus extra of magnets (one sheet per volume). It those aren't important to you, I would just get the boxset (or wait for the Viridian boxset of which includes the OVA).

The Gantz release is a bundle of the original Season 1 & 2 thinpaks. It's $29.99. I would say Godannar and Maburaho should be the same price as well. Blue Seed and Samurai Gun may be $21.99 while Cromartie High School may be $14.99.

Regarding this item at rightstuf:
Solty Rei DVD 1 (Hyb) + Artbox $9

Does anyone know how the Artbox "works"? I mean, are DVD singles cases that are kept in the box accessible without first removing or separating some part of the box? Also, is there any reason other than the singles cases to prefer getting the six singles plus box instead of the Solty Rei collection? (the prices for these alternatives are essentially the same).

The Solty Rei box is your traditional one that's open on one side... no detachable openable parts. Each single case also comes with a slipcover and the case inside has a reversible cover so the slipcover doesn't match the case cover. I'm not really familiar with the collection so I don't know if there are any extras differences or benefits other than being more compact with the collection.
