Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
UPDATE: No doubt about it - it still had the damn WM sticker on the front. And to add insult to injury, the case was beat all to hell. At least the discs were undamaged.
$4 each, if you're lucky enough to find them.

I ended up replacing Some Like It Hot and The Apartment with the newer versions. I picked it up because the price tag said $10 and I thought it was the score of the century, then it rang up at $5.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
I went to Wal-Mart last night and sitting right on top of the display with a bunch of other dvd's was the last Ringu set. It had a floater, but I took a chance. Turned out it was the righthand bottom DVD, but due to the case design it wasn't damaged. So I made out all right I think. Still a ton of Cherlies Angels there. Don't see how they will sell all those. Seems like they added a few more titles too since I was there a week ago. I was lucky and I snagged the last copy of The Odd Couple last week. I must have some good luck?

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
Went this morning and they still have the display up, but now they took down the $4 sign.
I was lucky to find two copies of Face/Off: 2-Disc set and I had the guy scan the price and it came up at $7.50. He gave it to me for $4.
I asked him to scan some of the other dvds in the display and quite a few came up much higher than $4. One was even close to $20.
And these are the same ones mentioned by others that they've seen in the $4 display. So I don't know what's up with my WM, but it seems that they have no clue what's up with this. Perhaps that's why they took down the $4 sign so that they don't have to honor the price and just say well the price is what the computer says it is.
So perhaps I'll be out of luck getting anymore $4 ones at mine for the time being.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
I haven't personally seen one there myself yet, but I have read a couple reports online of people finding the Transformers Matrix of Leadership complete series set for $119.99, which is $10 cheaper then the going rate at Best Buy (or Amazon)....of course, Deep Discount has it for only $108.09 right now, but if you want to pick it up right now today in a b&m store, looks like WM is a good option....

^ Thanks for the tip, Johnny.
That store gets a lot of traffic, so with my luck those titles will probably be picked clean before I can get back up there. Think I'll just save gas and hope the Centennials pop up online under $6 at some point.
UPDATE: Just happened to be going by the Nicholasville Rd. location this morning and found one lone copy of Sunset Blvd. waiting for me.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
Just left my local Walmart and picked up Bend of the River (James Stewart) for $5. There were a couple more westerns for $5 (Law and Order - Ronald Reagan, etc) and a bunch of Halloween $5's.
I'll be picking up Jaws for $5 on my next run.

Today I picked up Marathon Man ($4.00) and Casshern ($3.00). In the store closest to me (Sanford FL) they replaced a large section of newer released movies with $5.00 titles. Makes it easier then digging through the dump bin.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
FINALLY! After 8 Walmarts over the past two weeks I finally found my Ringu set. I picked up the last two they had (one for me and the other for a DVD collecting friend at work). $4.00 is such an amazing deal for that set. After PA sales tax that comes out to $1.08 per title. The sets were at a Walmat on Roosevelt Blvd outside of Philly. I'm not sure of the exact name of the town but it is the one more towards Franklin Mills. Not the one by the giant factory looking Home Depot. Though I didn't check that one so who knows... They might have it too.
