No, it was not. I was fortunate not to have ANY of mine zeroed out, but I did have an order canceled where I used two of them. However, since one of the two I used was from an account under my brother's name, where he only ordered one Groupon, I emailed Groupon to inquire about that one, since I'm not sure how I'd get my money back if B&N canceled it, but Groupon did not.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

My multiple Groupon orders were finally officially cancelled by Barnes & Noble in their system this afternoon. All my Groupon codes from these orders were zeroed out except for the one that Groupon left active in my Groupon account. I placed another order right away using that code just in case B&N decides at some point today or tomorrow that it wants to clear it out. Better safe than sorry.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

My canceled order still shows up in my account online. I had submitted the "I still want this" extension the other day for 3 of the 4 items. Well, apparently bn.com now tried to cancel the 4th item but was UNABLE to. I just got this email:
We have received your request to cancel your order #xxx.

Unfortunately, we are unable to complete this request, as your order has entered the shipping process or has already shipped. We apologize for any inconvenience.

ARGH! B&N is so screwed up with this whole fiasco...

Ran across a nice assortment of new store coupons. Hopefully I can find the online codes.

Thanks, as always, LASERMOVIES. Might stop by Barnes & Noble and see if they have anything on sale that I can use the 20% Coupon on.

Yeah, that's basically where I am right now. I can't cancel mine and they haven't canceled it yet either. And before I accept my groupon GC's fate I'm going to complain to Groupon and see if they won't release another code, as per the CSR suggestion.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Well, Groupon refunded more Groupons than they should have. I had 15 on one account, and they refunded all but one even though I'd used more than 1 (can't remember how many - at least 4 or 5). Given all the screwups with this, I'm not calling them to do the "right thing". So far, B&N has not charged my card for those canceled Groupons.

All in all, I think I made out well.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Is anyone starting to see refunds on their credit cards without having first contacted Groupon?

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

This whole thing is annoying, but at least the latest twist is in my benefit...turns out my Groupons were not voided, but that BN.com sent out the cancellation email before actually canceling my order, so the Groupons were still showing up as being used (not voided as I thought). Now that the orders have actually been canceled in their systems, my Groupons have their original value.

Time to strike while the iron is hot.

EDIT: Seems like the credit was put back on the codes used in one order, but not the other...so I need to contact Groupon for 3 refunds. As someone said, clusterfuck indeed.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Ummmm... I just received a shipping notice for my CANCELED order. My c/c doesn't show a temporary auth yet, so I can't tell if they simply removed the two Groupons and charged me full price, or if the Groupons were still part of the order. I am intrigued by this new turn of events...

Well, it's not as though they didn't have some help from the all the people misusing the coupons . You mix that with B&N's awful online ordering system and, to borrow from an earlier comment, it's a goat fucking waiting to happen.

I'm surprised B&N was able to cancel so many orders and get those groupons zeroed out so quickly. It must have been joy for some groupon drones to have to spend a few workdays sorting through charges for duplicate orders and then manually canceling each one except the original order. Probably a lot of job carnage going on at the respective marketing departments over this thing.

I wonder if B&N will "ask" Groupon to cover the losses for the extra Groupons that were used. When I stopped in B&N this past weekend I heard part of a conversation between the store manager and the music/movie manager regarding "losses from Groupon fraud".

The following is regarding the quote itself, not the poster. Oh God, what an over-exaggerated bit of nonsense. People get around limited quantity sales all the time. It's not fraud, it's just inconvenient. That manager needs to get his head out of his arse.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

BN only has Groupon to blame for having a shoddy purchase system. If they contract for 1 per person then it was up to Groupon to enforce that, and Groupon allowed sales to continue for days without limiting the BN deal to one city/page instead of a hundred cities that allowed you to make multiple purchases.

If they had just taken that simple step, then they would only need to monitor the Groupon purchases for duplicate credit card and/or billing addresses across multiple accounts, which can't be that hard to do.

In the end, Groupon dropped the ball for BN. Combine that with their Super Bowl commercial fiasco and things can't be pretty around that office.

I know you are doing your best to find some online codes, Laser. And for that I thank you. But I'm going crazy seeing all these incredible in store coupons that do me no good at all. Even when I do make the trip to the B&N store about 45 minutes from my house, I often find it to be woefully lacking stock. Yeah, I guess I could go in with several ISBN's or dvd titles I want and order from them that way, but it's just so much better and easier to order online.

Please enlighten me, since I don't recall a Groupon commercial, and am not aware of any fiasco.

They also had a problem with FTD; apparently FTD raised the prices on the page directed from Groupon, whereas customers to the regular site got lower prices.

So far I'm not having any luck coming up with a single online coupon that I believe will reliably work. Most of the codes I have seen and tested come up as already redeemed. A few that have worked will probably soon come up redeemed after a few uses. I see no reason to post something that likely is not going to work for most forum members since it would probably be more trouble than it's worth. I'll keep searching but it's not looking good for any new online coupons at the moment.

I think the online codes are available. I received a 10% code to one email account and a 15% code to another. The codes look unique as they are much longer than the usual codes but when I apply them they switch to the standard length codes. The details don't say anything about working with a specific email account and I applied them to 2 different accounts and they worked with both. I didn't buy anything as I'm holding out for the 20%.

Looks like I made my post above about the same time. I never received a single email from B&N today on the only account that was still receiving them. I believe I have been blacklisted for email offers by B&N for some reason.

I've seen a few of those longer codes around today, but most of them I've tried come up as already redeemed. A few I tested that did work I have a feeling will work for only a limited number of times. I noticed the codes did seem to change to a shorter code, but when I tried using only the shorter code it comes up as invalid. The working codes were only for 10% and 15% off. The one code I saw for 20% came up as redeemed when tested.

The 10% and 15% codes are still working for me. Let's compare codes. I don't plan to use the 10% code so I'll post it here. If it's a one time use and I lose it so be it.
