Thanks to everyone who took advantage of our Black Friday sale. It was our hugest response to date. Please be mindful of the fact that the one poor chappie who fulfills our websales will have his hands full over the coming days but will be getting every order out as soon as possible. Cheers!

Vinegar Syndrome has a 3-title "Flash Sale" on that was only supposed to be for a couple of hours yesterday (March 7) according to the Facebook/Twitter posts where they announced it, but which still appears to be active as I write this (March 8). The titles are from their "Etiquette Pictures" line: AMERICAN DREAMER, SOME CALL IT LOVING and CATCH MY SOUL for between $14.98 and $16.49.

https://vinegarsyndrome.com/cat/brands/brands-ep/

EDIT: scratch that. Looks like it ended while I was making this post. Anyway, moving on . . .

The American Dreamer was fascinating to see a different side of Dennis Hopper from when he was considered a counterculture superstar after Easy Rider.

Thanks for the heads up. I checked their new site.

They're doing the "Critierion Discount" thing. It's still cheaper going through Amazon, by about $1.50 per title (and more on some higher priced titles).

Come on, Kino. Especially for an announcement.

Mondo Macabro currently has sale prices on their catalog titles. Don't know when it started or when it will end. http://mondomacabro.bigcartel.com/

According to their Facebook page, where they announced it, the sale ends Monday, April 11. Didn't realize their catalog was so anemic these days, though. Really not much to pick from, although there are still some fun titles to choose from.

Cult fans should jump on that sighting. I've had that disc for years and it's not a half-bad release. It's never coming back in print.

re: Deals Thread for Cult, Genre and/or Non-Region A Blu-Rays

Quite a few Arrow blu-rays are 7.99 (UK) - buying 4 or more brings them down to about $10.25USD with shipping which I believe may be cheaper than the Arrow sales. Most are Region B, but there's a few region free. Lots of classic Hollywood stuff (Thieves Highway, Sweet Smell of Success, etc), European art-house (Rififi, Closely Watched Trains, Fassbinder films, etc) and of course a number of giallo and '70s/'80s splatter. --Peter

Arrow's Sweet Smell of Success was a phenomenal set with generous special features and a gorgeous film transfer. It is locked to Region B.

Grindhouse Video (a fantastic store in Florida) has teamed up with Arrow Video for a sale that I believe goes for the next month!

re: Deals Thread for Cult, Genre and/or Non-Region A Blu-Rays

Made a separate thread for this, but just in case some folks only check in here, Vinegar Syndrome's BF sale runs 11/25 to 11/29, for those so inclined:

Welcome to November!
Now that Halloween is over, it can only mean one thing...Black Friday is just weeks away, and you know what that means...Our world famous Black Friday Sale is almost here! This year, in addition to our incredible price discounts and 2017 yearly package deals, we have two (yes 2!) surprise Blu-rays planned! One is an all-but-lost late 80s slasher which we've restored to its longest cut ever. The other is a 60s sexploitation classic by one of the genre's most acclaimed auteurs. Both are coming to Blu-ray for the first time and will ONLY be for sale on the VS site (and eventually other places, if there's any left).

Black Friday Weekend Sale = 11/25-11/28

For those of you waiting to order the November package, both the November titles and our December release, JACK FROST (with the limited edition lenticular cover), will be in-stock and shipping as of Black Friday.

And, in case anyone needs a reminder on what's due out in November...
• Kirdy Steven's TABOO 2 / TABOO 3 Blu-ray double feature, with all new restorations and in their proper aspect ratio for the first time on home video.
• The insane Crown International action/kung-fu/sci-fi classic, DEATH MACHINES on Blu-ray, newly restored in 4k!
• Three incredible and rare documentaries from one of our favorite filmmakers, Alex deRenzy, WEED, INNOCENTS ABROAD & SEXUAL ENCOUNTER GROUP, with the latter two coming to home video for the first time ever.
• And finally, an oddball double feature of two 80s skinflicks, SILK, SATIN & SEX / TURN ON WITH KELLY NICHOLS, from the aptly named Lawrence Talbot.
• ...and the two secret Black Friday blu-ray releases!

Also available for pre-order on Black Friday will be our January 2017 titles. We have 4 more Crown titles in the works (all Blu), including a much-requested slasher, a sexploitation masterpiece, and a Blu-ray double feature of two psychotic vanity pieces. We will also have our first hardcore Blu of the year (which also happens to be one of the best hardcore features of the 80s), along with another hardcore DVD.

Till next time...

Posted on the Severin Facebook page today:

We'll supply the 35% coupon code on Black Friday. Plan accordingly.

For comparison's sake, last year's sale was 60% off everything.

I'll bet the only way to get 60% off is to buy the "7 pack", which will of course be loaded with titles I bought when I cleaned them out in last year's sale.

Not even sure if there are that many Severin Titles left that I want

I might be funneling a lot of my funds into Vinegar Syndrome's upcoming Black Friday Sale.

VCI's 'Thanksgiving Sale' is now on. Everything except Exclusives (mostly their DVD combo packs) and 'Lost and Found.'

TURKEY60 at checkout. Free shipping over $25.

Most of their Blu-Rays appear to be included, all in the $8 - $12 range.

Further to the above post, here's another one:

Shout Factory 50% off MST3K Turkey Day Sale - Nov. 22-28

Half price on all but the most recent three DVD boxed sets (37, 38 and the re-release of 4). Free shipping over $50, as long as there's at least one MST item in your cart (so some folks might prefer to add Blu-Rays as well). Seems like I've paid a bit less for MST sets at Amazon over the years, but not much less.

re: Deals Thread for Cult, Genre and/or Non-Region A Blu-Rays

Arrow UK's sale ends on Tuesday 11/26. Not a huge selection, but some really good prices on older stock ($7.50 Miracle of Milan, Motel Hell, Pit Stop, The Visitor, etc). Need $50UK to trigger free shipping to the US (the Taviani limited edition box set seems to trump the US counterpart). Many of these releases are Region B (the individual listings do have region coding information). --Peter

re: Deals Thread for Cult, Genre and/or Non-Region A Blu-Rays

Actually, there's a lot more £4.99 titles in this sale than in most previous ones, which could be promising for the future as well (I'm assuming Proglodite's $7.50 is exchange + shipping if you're under $50? Otherwise, they work out to about $6.25 apiece)

ASHES & DIAMONDS
FRIVOLOUS LOLA
MIRACLE IN MILAN
DJANGO PREPARE A COFFIN
KNIGHTRIDERS
MOTEL HELL
MARK OF THE DEVIL
PIT STOP
REMO WILLIAMS
RETALIATION
SPIDERBABY
THE VISITOR
TENDERNESS OF THE WOLVES

Also, sale ends 11/29.

Good prices but I was hoping for more titles than that. I already have the ones I want out of that list.
