Yeah, I've gotten a couple of R2 Doctor Who discs this year. Not a biggie for me since I have a player, but it was unexpected.

I rarely order big sets from Hastings, so this was definitely my first bootleg / import. However, a buddy of mine ordered two of the NCIS box sets for this sale--one that was supposed to include seasons 1-7 and one for seasons 1-9--and he informed me BOTH were Asian imports. Someone is scamming hell out of their buy system. There's no way even an untrained teen employee is stupid enough to think these are the real deal.

Could be certain employees are taking them, then they split the profits with the person dumping the fakes.

With a sale/mistake like this however, many people will get the bottom of the barrels of GoHastings just because there is much more quantity moving hands than coming in from this situation.

GoHastings doesn't seem to have even a rudimentary system for checking used discs they purchase. It has been like this for years. It's why I mostly avoid used DVDs from them. Bootleg BDs mostly don't exist outside of a few Disney exceptions.

I guess my local stores are outliers. They scan the UPC on trade-ins and if it's not in their system, they won't take it. I have gotten stuff that shouldn't have been accepted from gohastings though. From the 5 for $20 sale, my copy of Sopranos: Season 6 Part 2 had no slipcover at all, so no UPC and nothing holding the the case together. Also received the Canadian single-disc version of Elf, instead of the Limited Edition that I ordered. Can't complain too much at those prices though.

got my 3/$10 blu-rays yesterday - in a huge box, with no padding, peanuts, newspaper, foam - nothing. just 9 movies rattling around in a huge box. ugh. all discs are pristine, so can't complain. But they got $11 for S&H from me - I thought they would have put a little more care into shipping...

The box was 1' by 2'. which is insane for 9 discs.

Anyway, movies are fine. even a few digital codes still worked. so happy..

missed out on getting any boxsets for $3...but still good deals for the ones I got..

I think 90% of my blu-rays are now from gohastings sales...

Received Vampire Diaries S4 & S5. I was hoping to get the BD+DVD versions...and I did! The sets were in pretty good shape. Also got UV codes along with them (not sure if they have been used, though). Hopefully, S1-3 will be the same.

A while back they started culling long-time OOS items from their database. I had several wish list items disappear at that time. That's probably what happened to these.

I had taken the time to put together a list and when shipping was added, I realized I could probably score most of these titles for about the same price "new" with a bit of patience. There are numerous resellers and pawn shops around the Phoenix area and buying used is a crapshoot unless you can inspect the items.... so, I just decided to skip this one.
