Actually a very well done set. This is the only way to get ALL of the first season episodes on anything other than video cassette (which actually cost MORE by the time you calculate it out). Video is pretty much as flawless as you can get for a TV show.

Also, I was amazed by the sound quality. I'm not sure if it was my Lexicon Logic 7 decoding or the DVD transfer, but the DVD sounded absolutely awesome and all of my surrounds were active. The scene with the leaves in the forest in the first episode was particularly good. Leaves swirled all around the room. Again, I don't know if it was my pre-amp or the DVD, but the sound is excellent for a TV show.

The only thing that I wasn't too impressed with was the extras. For a show of this caliber and cult status you'd think they'd throw in the kitchen sink, but the extras are only mediocre to average.

I would definately recommend it. You can pick up this set for aroung $100 (without coupons). That basically equates to $5 per episode.

Well I thought the first season of the X-Files was by far the greatest, and it's hard for me to resist...must...give...into...urge...and...temptation...
