I will buy from Criterion again.

I ordered Fellini Satyricon on Blu during the flash sale last week. According to the tracking info, the package was delivered to my address, along with a package from Amazon, but neither one was in my mail box or on my doorstep. I have contacted my local post office, but they have been unable to find them. Apparently, the carrier is new and the post office has received multiple complaints about lost packages and misdelivered mail. The supervisor I have spoken to has been sympathetic, but that does not resolve anything.

I contacted Amazon and although the person I spoke to wasn't very useful, I got some resolution from them. I had ordered two Blu-Rays in the lost package; they are sending one by regular mail, even though I have Prime, and they refunded the other, saying it was no longer in their system. That was a blatant lie, because I was able to re-order the same item for the same price. So, I should have both items in hand by next week.

I have e-mailed Criterion twice so far over the past 72 hours, and there has been no response. They have my money, I don't have a movie, and they seem to be ignoring me.

Their service blows.

Overreacting? I have sent Criterion polite emails, stating the facts and asking what the next steps are. So far, I have received no response.

How is that an overreaction? Why should I buy from them directly if they do not address a customer complaint? If I want to purchase a Criterion, I'll just stick with buying from Barnes and Noble in-store.

Criterion is a video label primarily concerned with making home video products. Like the other boutique labels, they aren't properly set up to handle retail sales very well. I avoid label stores like Criterion and Shout Factory like the plague.

Yes, clearly it was a CS rep who was lying rather than one who just didn't understand how to find something in their system.

Incompetence isn't an improvement over dishonesty. At least Amazon responded. Criterion has not.

Why are you so pissed at Criterion it was the post office at fault here. Give them a few days to respond, I am sure they don't have a lot of people on had to work CS given their previous stated focus as a company.

Didn't seem like it, considering how angry you were about the lie.

I got my order from the recent sale just fine and without issue

Sounds like the Post Office is your nemesis here.

Re: I will NEVER buy from Criterion again!

I know for a fact that Criterion has a small workforce to respond to emails and handle online sales, but they are good people and will certainly replace your lost copy if you just give them time to respond. I imagine you are not the only one with a shipping problem and simply your account is just a little behind on their cue.

I've ordered from Criterion before and had an issue once, but after several days they responded, apologize for the delay in responding and made it up for me by replacing a bad disc quickly .

I'm pissed at Criterion because they have not responded to my e-mails. If they had even bothered to send a short note just to acknowledge the issue, I would be much more mellow about this.

I know that the post office committed the error, but they are working with me. Amazon has been working with me, if poorly. I've heard nothing from Criterion.

I only want to get what I paid for, or at least to get some kind of response. I'm not sure why that seems so unreasonable.

I can't say anything about Criterion as I've never directly ordered from them but I've ordered directly from Shout a few times and they've always been very prompt.

Tell them his Yelp Reviewer what?

I hope you respond quickly, Groucho, don't make me start a thread about your poor customer service.

Direct your anger to the appropriate person. Find out the name and address of the new carrier and go over to his house to pick up your Blu rays. Give the carrier a stern warning, then threaten to take him to small claims court.

Re: I will NEVER buy from Criterion again!

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to vent. I apologize if I offended anyone. Ultimately, lost deliveries are inconsequential. This was just the pebble that dislodged unrelated stress. I'm sure Criterion will contact me eventually.

Re: I will NEVER buy from Criterion again!

Taking that long for a response from any store that doesn't appear to have a direct customer service phone number is pretty shitty, no matter what the excuse is.

Gobear, after that awesome prize package in the Horror Challenge, your right to complain about anything is forfeited for the rest of the year.

You have a point. . .

. . . assuming the post office doesn't lose it.

I don't know why you'd blame CC since it was the USPS' fault.
