Alice Cooper/Jethro Tull?
Wasn't Alice Cooper a fictional name when the band took the name?
Just wondering about alphabetical order of Alice Cooper and Jethro Tull. In one book I have(All Music Guide 2nd Edition) it lists Alice Cooper under C(always thought it was a fictional name, later it was the lead singers changed name) and Jethro Tull(being fictional) is listed under J. So Alice Cooper(the singer) named himself after the band but doesn't that still make the band's name fictional?
Does U2 come before or after UB40 in alphabetical order?

It was, but because it became the name of real person, it's alphabetized under C.
At least we know Marilyn Manson goes under M either way.

But not a member of the band. Also, there was no Leonard Skinner or Lynyrd Skynyrd in Lynyrd Skynyrd or Pink Floyd in Pink Floyd.
Though there was an Alice Cooper in Alice Cooper (if "Alice Cooper" even qualifies as a band at all, or just a singer with a backing band, like Blizzard of Ozz, which I don't think was ever actually used and it was always Ozzy Osbourne and his backing band) and a Marilyn Manson in Marilyn Manson (which is a bit fuzzier as to whether it's an actual band or solo project, since in the original line-up everyone had names like Ginger Fish and Madonna Wayne Gacy).

Come to think of it, I do a lot of used vinyl searching in whatever city I happen to be in, and have seen Captain Beefheart placed under both the "C" and "B" sections and Henry Cow under both the "H" and "C" sections .

IIRC, Billion Dollar Babies was also a band release. Alice Cooper became a solo artist with Welcome To My Nightmare.
