Best (Free) Online Poker for "Poker Night" with Friends?
I have some friends spread across the country who used to all play poker back when we were young men in and just out of high school. Some of us were thinking recently it would be fun to play poker online together, have a sort of regular "poker night" like the old days. Thing is, we're more interested in sharing each others' company than taking each others' money or playing against the computer or strangers.
We're wondering: is there a good / free online poker that 4-8 friends can play in real time together on our PCs / laptops / tablets, preferably with microphones and maybe even cameras, too?

Doesn't exist, bro, sorry. But you're still a good person.

They exist, but you'll likely have to use Google.
Poker Friends works with iOS and Android:
http://www.pokerfriendsapp.com/
Pokerstars Home Games has a free PC download:
http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/home-games/
You might have to pair these games with a second app/program like Google Chat or Skype to get audio or video chat going.
Zynga Poker:

Celeb Poker:

I haven't played with an IRL friends yet, but I've really enjoyed PokerStarsVR on Oculus Quest when I have a little downtime. And it's free, me of the past, it's free!

Lol, I didn't even notice it was an old thread, but yeah, Pokerstars VR would be a great choice for that. My only real complaints with the game are the other players, so a private group would be awesome.

Is there a good non-vr option for private groups? My team at work has been talking about doing some kind of virtual event, and this would actually be kind of cool.

Guide on playing poker over Zoom:
https://pokerfortress.com/poker-on-zoom-guide/
Basically, have both a private poker room on some online poker site/app, and a zoom meeting of participants.
https://pokerfortress.com/poker-on-zoom-guide/
The idea of playing poker on Zoom is simple; you play with your friends on the same poker game while being in a conference with them to make interaction easier. When choosing a private poker room, customization options are the first thing that you should be looking at and how easy it’ll be for your friends to join.

My friends and I would use a Google Meeting (any video chat would do) and used Donkhouse.com to play poker. No money required. However, my friends and I would Venmo one person our buy ins and then allot ourselves the appropriate amount of chips and play according to what we bought with. But if you're just playing for fun then no extra work needed:
