So far I don't think this season is that bad compared to last season and there are a lot fewer repeating characters or sketches unless Keenan does "Whats Up with That" tonight.

This monologue is about what I expect from the Dumb and Dumber sequel, which is why I'll probably be skipping it.

It's too late for you east coasters, but for us out west, tonight's classic SNL at 10PM is Tom Hanks hosting, with Aerosmith the musical guest. Classic episode. Not his best episode, but still, it has the classic Wayne's World sketch with Hanks and Aerosmith. Also has one of those Hanks/Lovitz lady watching sketches.

That was really awful music. Just terrible.
I think Zasheer Samata has offically taken the hot body trophy from Cecily Strong - yow!

Loved the first two Lincoln commercials... that Allstate mash-up was too strange.
WU was enjoyable... when Drunk Uncle looked at Michael Che and said, "5th Floor please", I about lost it. I love Drunk Uncle.

So now they have their clip to show when Kate McKinnon suffers a tragic and early death.

The secret billionaire was funny.
The sketch with the Jim Carrey family was ok but the one with the Christopher Walken family was better.

I'm surprised this episode didn't get more love - I'm the first person to criticize SNL for being utter garbage over the years, but felt this episode knocked it out of the park. Believe me, it isn't because I love Jim Carrey, either - he really soured me with the crap he pulled over Kick Ass 2, and now... Dumb and Dumber 2. As a PG-13, no less!
No one else thought the Sia spoof was sheer genius? Maybe the music video hasn't been as widely seen as I expected, but that dance-off was simply hilarious. It just worked so well, Carrey crossdressing for the role utterly perfect.
The only oddity... the Lorne Michael's cameo. It sure looked like it was unplanned as Michaels made it clear he'd have no parts when the two appeared to try and get him to play along. Likewise, the way he was standing by the monitor alone, lined up perfectly for the shot, leads me to think it was staged. In which case... bizarre, like I said.
Still, this was one of the better episodes in years. It's been a long time since I didn't find my attentions drifting off late in the show as the skit quality went down drastically. This week, however, the skits were strong from start to finish - almost improving the later on they appeared in the show. Weekend Update has found its niche once more, after the disastrous nightmare after Meyers departed last season.
Only garbage last night was the monologue... and "Iggy." God, what a talentless hack Hollywood creation. A "rapper" who appears more Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys staging than anything else. That performance was a damn joke - focusing on the visuals/dancing rather than the song and "singing." Of course, after that video from early in her career surfaced -as she tried to literally be another Britney pop star- how can anyone possibly take her seriously as an "artist" - let alone a hip-hop/female rapper. Eve or Missy Elliot, where art thou?
All that aside, what a horrific mistake doing what they did with Fancy turned out... what, was Charlie XCX really too busy to appear on a nationally televised show and get the added promotion entailed by such a performance? Or was the not-so-lovely "Iggy" opposed to potentially being upstaged by someone who actually has some degree of talent? Using backup singers as they did over even using a recorded track for the part... a complete, utter train wreck from start to finish.

The dance off was great, really cracked me up. That part when Jim falls on the mattress and pretends to give birth was golden. The Lincoln spoofs dead on. I'd been waiting for them to tackle it and they didn't disappoint.
I liked the billionaire skit for how bizarre it was. The cemetery bit didn't thrill me much and the zombie skit went on forever though it was funny to see how much abuse the new kid was taking from Jim's bat. I still think Weekend Update is a chore to sit through and that drunk uncle has really grown old for me.
I wasn't a fan of Hellvis while watching it but you can't deny it was memorable & the whole fixation on pecan pie downright weird.
It was a good show and I wish Jim would host more often.

Because the writing is so shitty they haven't come up with anything even remotely worth repeating. Trust me, if the audience responds to something, ANYTHING, they will run it into the ground.
