Watching the dream of Irving go all badass was really jarring and pretty awesome in an "oh crap the good guys are in for some problems if he goes bad" sort of way. The driving scene was pretty funny. Guess we'll have to wait and see what Henry wants with the crushed up bone flute.

Crane's stunt driving was fun, apparently he's been hanging out with Jenny .
The con-man guy is apparently not a one-off character. So does he believe in the supernatural stuff or not? He seems to collect the stuff, but be skeptical about it. It's kind of an interesting idea to have him be a little more amoral-in most of these shows, the good-guys are selfless hunters who kill demons-even if it's well-played out elsewhere.
The choreography of that action set piece was kind of impressive, although the choppy editing was annoying.
"Logging ceremony."
The sound dropout was a neat effect, though I kind of wish they'd milked it a little more. After the cut to the commercial, basically Crane just picks up a rock.
Hellish damned-both-ways choice. I can't even imagine something so horrible.
The only main stuff moving the plot forward was the Irving stuff whatever Jeremy is going to do with the dust. Tying him to the privateer was kind of interesting though.

On paper (or on your monitor, as most people read stuff that way these days), a story about the Pied Piper sounds pretty ridiculous. Goofy, silly, stretching credibility, etc...
And then in the final episode it worked. Well. This production/writing team is excellent. They are able to take fairy tale, old ghost story type stuff and turn it into extremely entertaining and believable (within the context of the series) episodes.
I'll say it again - I love this cast. I love watching these characters as portrayed by these actors. This is a fun show to watch, including the most recent episode.

I actually liked this standalone episode a lot. I'll say this series has excellent creature make-up and costume design. I'm not as big a fan of the running storyline with the Horsemen.
