It would be... if they had any of the titles in stock(!) My rant from another forum:

Just got back from the Burbank store. It doesn't appear that they got any new stock for this sale, it's only what they have on hand. Most titles have 0 to 5 copies in stock. And after they pulled stock for the in store pick-ups...... I wouldn't waste a trip. A few examples:

Nebraska - 0 (I grabbed the last one on the shelf)
Indiana Jones Trilogy - 1
Chucky collection - 0
The Jack Ryan Collection - 2
The Nut Job - 1
Machete Kills - 2
About Time - 3
Saving Private Ryan - 3
Fear - 2
Catch Me If You Can - 2
Amistad - 0
The Grey - 0
Midway - 0
Minority Report - 1
Fearless/Unleashed (Jet Li) - 1

Most of the 3D titles were very low stock also. Maybe they'll restock over the weekend, but right now it's really pathetic.

That's why most people line up at the front before the stores open. Always happens with their sales, especially the anniversary one.

I think it's a very good opportunity to price match with Best Buy or Target or other stores. I'll do it later tonight, hopefully without any issues. I'm picking up Indiana Jones for sure.....

Thank OP! I PM'd at Best Buy for the Indiana Jones collection. It finally hit my price point for buying it. Too bad it comes with Crystal Skull.

Shit, I picked up a paper and the Vegas ad only lists some of those $9.99 Blu Rays (and not Nebraska, which was the only one I wanted). No other Blus listed, so no price matching for me.

You should still be able to match over the phone using bestbuy.com

Re: Fry's Ad 05/09/14 - 05/15/14

Grabbed Indiana Jones and Jack Ryan at Best Buy. May consider coming back for more I'm glad I was patient with Indy and didn't dip when it was at $29.99 at Amazon.

I also passed by at Target. But I didn't know that they only price match to I think 5 stores, including Walmart and Best Buy, but not Frys.com.

Anyone can tell which Newspaper carried the Frys ad? It would be a lot easier to match if you have the paper ad. It took me quite a while with the cashier as he seemed incredulous at the price differential. I used my iphone to show the prices as their computers were real slow. And then he had to check several times to ensure the price was right. He also had to do an override with a supervisor twice, even told the sup 'but the price is real low!' . But glad the sup was cool! Good way to start the weekend!

I was able to price match Indiana Jones at Best Buy after it went "in store only" at Fry's. I am in NY and no where near a Fry's. Surprisingly easy to price match. I showed the ad on my smartphone . The clerk, who I believe was a manager, said they don't match Fry's but said he would do it for me anyway. That was it. No buying it at checkout and having to wait at customer service to price match.

Re: Fry's Ad 05/09/14 - 05/15/14

Price matched Indy at the Fullerton Best Buy. Showed the Fry's".com" price on my iPhone and the cashier called for an override. I hardly ever shop at Best Buy but they have my business from now on if price matching is going to be this easy.

And I second the motion, Fuck Fry's, they stiffed me on a rebate for a couple of books years ago... the rebate was only for $40 but I spent two days on the phone arguing with the rebate fulfillment company that I never received my rebate check, they claimed my rebate was void because it was one rebate per person when the Fry's ad clearly stated that you could use the rebate on more than one book. There's way more to the story but I'll spare the boring details.

So ever since then if I ever go into a Fry's I creatively hide some of their inventory. There are spots in certain shelf/racks that I deposit video games, DVDs/Blu Rays. Sure, it might be a dick move, but they fucking deserve it... both the Burbank and Industry stores have a treasure trove of old games and DVD's scattered about the store waiting to be discovered. I started way back when with a brand new copy of Madden 05... I don't hold grudges, I get even!

Some stuff that was In-store only is now available for shipping, even though it is BO'd. (free shipping $23 and up)

What, exactly, are you trying to accomplish by doing this?

Got Titanic & Top Gun 3D with PM at BB.
I actually watched Top Gun and the 3d presentation & PQ is top notch! Very pleased.
Tom Cruise is truly the master of the jaw clench....at least he in in this film.

The deal on Indy is unbelievable. No way I could have ever waited this long on that set so no regrets scoring it from a guy on CraigsList for $30 a couple months after it was released. But to those who don't have it, but it NOW!!!

Got Best Buy to price match both today without a problem. Thanks again OP.

Excited to watch Indy again. Haven't seen it since I was a kid.

I wish Amazon price-matched. I got a GC for my birthday and that is a good price for the Chucky Collection. It's been hovering at the $40 mark for a while now.

Re: Fry's Ad 05/09/14 - 05/15/14

I've bought lots of stuff at Frys stores, but never online. I was getting ready to place an order for several 3D animated titles late last night, and was at the credit card info stage when I noticed there was no security symbol (the little lock icon) showing up on my browser anywhere. Their page said it was secure, but every online transaction I've made anywhere else shows that little security icon in the URL tool bar area. No see that… no order.

I'd try BB price matching, but none of the titles I want are available at any stores in my area.

Any DVDtalkers have experience (good, bad, whatever) ordering from Frys online?
