$6 blu-rays at walmart
I just saw a $6 BR bin at walmart. I don't remember all of them, but they have the dirty dozen and the African Queen!. Maybe this is old news, but I don't remember seeing the African Queen on BR that cheap. I honestly expected the cashier to ring up $16 rather than $6. So was very pleasantly surprised that it was indeed $6.
There were about 20 of these.
Don't remember seeing this sale, so thought I would share.

Re: $6 blu-rays at walmart
I found a display. Picked up a few titles. Here's what I recall seeing:
Heartbreak Ridge
Defiance
Three Kings
Letters from Iwo Jima
Syriana
Gods and Generals
Gettysburg
In the Valley of Elah
Full Metal Jacket
African Queen
Dirty Dozen
Green Berets
and one more title I can't recall
There were likely a few other titles that I didn't get to see due to there being a few empty spots on the display. It was on the end of a $4 DVD display that mostly had Clint Eastwood and John Wayne films - if that is any help.

Sounds like the same display they had around here fathers day week, with the blus on the smaller sides and the 4 buck Eastwood and Wayne dvds taking up the big sides of the display.

What's funny (or strange) is a Wal-Mart I went to a few weeks earlier had the $4 display, but no $6 blu display. Wal-Mart sure is weird and inconsistent in regard to what inventory each store receives. I've had a hell of a time finding many of the deals people have found on here - which is why it surprised me that I succeeded to find the display on my first try.

^ no kidding. Have 5 wm within 15 to 20 minutes of each other and one only had the fathers days display. That seems to be the norm, only one or two will get something.

Was going to buy Full Metal Jacket, they had the DVD (for $4) but it was "Standard" screen, looked for the BD (for $6) but it was sold out and they "probably won't be getting any more". The other WM doesn't have the display. FMJ was the only one I was interested in, had it on VHS, wanted to replace it on DVD/BD. Full screen sucks.

Re: $6 blu-rays at walmart
I went to Walmart yesterday and found these scattered all over the department (on shelves and in the various bins). Typical Walmart experience. If I hadn't seen this thread, I would have had no idea they were $6.
I ended up with 3 of the 4 that I wanted: In the Valley of Elah, African Queen, and Letters from Iwo Jima. I'll have to check another Walmart to try to find the last title.

He liked full screen for home video. He died before HD masters and HD TVs ,that can replicate theater setups, were commonplace. Matter of fact, Dvds were in their infancy in 1999 when Kubrick died. The technology today allows us to see his preferred OAR at home, instead of 4x3 analog.

The Vudu credit on the movies in this display expires 8/18 so I don't think the displays will be up much longer if they haven't been taken down already. You might luck out and find some in the $7.88 bluray bin if the store has one and you haven't searched there already.
