I just picked up a pair of Grado SR-60s. They sound great except that they seem to direct as much sound out of the ear as they do into the ear. When I take them off while still listening at a normal volume level there is a lot of external sound. I bought them to use with a portable DVD player, but I don't want to be on a plane and have someone complain and tell me to turn them down. Do they all have this problem? If so, are there any other similarly priced headphones that are of similar quality? Thanks.

There's not much you can do about the Grados as they are all "open-air" headphones which leak out the sound. The Sony MDR V6 or V7 are quite good but do not have the bass response of the SR60 but they are of the closed type. Hope this helps.
