I have 400 pounds to spend (about 600 dollars). I currently have a 20 inch 4:3. I do not need dolby surround as as have a decoder for that. Any suggestions?

I don't think you will be able to find a widescreen tv with $600 they are still rather expensive(at least in the US). You will be able to find a nice 32" or possibly a 36" tv on sale for that much. Toshiba is a good brand that sells in this price range. Good Luck

Actually they are available in the U.K. all be it small ones. My parents bought a small (I think it is somewhere between 20" and 24" in size) Hitachi widescreen for 350 pounds (about $500).
