America's Got Talent -- "Auditions" -- 06/01-06/02

America's Got Talent

2 Hour Season Premiere on Tuesday:

The talent contest opens its fifth season with open auditions in Los Angeles.

The Hoff is gone, Mr. Deal or No Deal is the new 3rd judge. Sharon and Piers along with Nick Cannon also return.

1 Hour Episode on Wednesday. Auditions will be in Dallas.

Watched it last season and had alot of fun even though I hated the winner.

I was pissed that the opera singer (Barbara Padilla) didn't win last season. Not crazy about opera, but she was way more talented than that chicken farmer.

How soon until we hear...."You are what this show is all about!"

With the Hoff gone, it may be a while. I'm sure it will still happen, but he always seemed to say it at least twice per episode.

I still like Britain's version better.

+1. I would rank it Britain, Australia, and then America.

It is funny to see how the show is different for different markets. I can't stand Nick Cannon on it either. It seems like every act they have to cut to him doing or saying something.

Never watched before, I only checked out pieces of it tonight.

Why would they vote the Indian guy who did lousy impressions through?

The last guy with the guitar and the hat who said his grandparents lost everything in Katrina was pretty good, but I'll bet that all of his songs sound exactly the same.

Wow, the "fake" audience cheers has gotten really bad so far and its only one episode in! One minute the crowd is going "crazy" for a contestant and the next second they are completely quiet in their seats? lol

I really dont think singers should be on this show, except for the different singers like the ones that do opera. Regular singers, go to American Idol. I'm always amused how the last act of the show is always the person who has some sort of an emotional story to tell, and is always the act you can count on to advance far in the competition.

That first group, the funk dancing kids... the black kid reminded me of Rallo from The Cleveland Show

I saw some of it last night and it was really annoying that they kept doing cut aways to Cannon's expressions during the routines. I realize he's the host, but I could care less what he thinks. It's all about Howie, Piers and Sharon.

How is Howie as a judge? I hated the Hoff as a judge... it was like they combined the worst aspects of Paula, Ellen, and Randy from Idol in one package minus their positive attributes.

It seems Kevin Skinner's CD came out in March but didn't have a distributor so Amazon doesn't carry it. According to reviews it is only available through his official site and in certain stores in Kentucky. So much for this show being a big career boost. Unless you go viral... or have puppets...

Re: America's Got Talent -- "Auditions" -- 06/01-06/02

I avoided coming here for 2 days so I could watch both eps without influence, but I guess there aren't many spoilers posted.

I couldn't quite keep track, but according to Wikipedia, they passed 16 acts in the 2 hour ep and 8 in the other.

There are way too many acts that shouldn't have passed. Howie kept saying he wanted to see more, but that doesn't mean that that act should win.

I found out now that in addition to being on Hulu, I can also get episodes through My PrimeTime on On Demand. Kewl.

I dont think any of the winners have went on to be successful except for Terry Fator.
