I just got a Sony receiver(STR-DE445)that has Dolbly Digital and DTS decoding. I hooked up to my Philips DVD711(also has DTS decoding) player using a digital coaxial cable for surround sound because this is suggested in the receiver manual. I could have also hooked it up with an optical cable. Anyway, nothing seems to traveling over this cable as none of the indicators show dts decoding, only Pro-logic! My sound is still coming through the analog RCA jacks and is therefore, I guess, not true surround? Are there some settings I'm not aware of on my recevier/dvd player?
Thanks,
Alvis

Some DVDs require you to select different modes in their menu.
Also, some DVD players need to have DTS turned on in their menu.
Just some more ideas...

Have you played Atari today?
