Synopsis:



Uhhh Ohhh, a certain character from Jack's past returns. I know most of you guys hate her, but I've never had a problem with her....except the shit from Day 2, which seems to haunt her til this day. Granted, the character has done some really stupid things, but I think she's an important element to Bauer and what humanizes him keeps him wanting to live.

I don't mind her coming back as a cameo for a show or two ince in a while. The main problem with her charcter is that the writers just made bad decisions on how to keep her in the series. She was just a useless tool in season 2 and all of a sudden a CTU analyst in season 3!? Cameos are the way to go.

Not that I mind because I always read the episode description (and the opening credits would certainly give away this minor spoiler) but I think it's hilarious that you pretty much gave away exactly who the the character is eventhough you prefaced it with the vague "a certain character from Jacks past"

Yeah I know, I tried to be vague, but it was pretty much a dead giveaway. I think there have already been articles and Kiefer mentioned in an interview that she would be coming back this season at some point.

If my calculations are correct, she would be around 29 or 30 in 24 years considering season 6 took place 9 years after season 1 and this season takes place 3-4 years after last season.

Gordon said that if they were keeping track it would be around 2017 in '24 time' for season 7. If that's the case, Kim was, what, 16 the first year? That would put her at 32 this season. Elisha Cuthbert is 26 according to her birthdate on imdb, so that really isn't that far off.

A great day is about to get better.

Indeed, anyone with any affection for 24 is likely to love tonight's outing, which finds the series hitting one of its periodic reset buttons. But it's more than just a pivotal episode; it's a nearly ideal one, with some longed-for resolution, an emotional reconciliation, an exciting central sequence, and at least one surprise that's sure to leave you gasping.

Meanwhile, back at the FBI, a bio-infected, office-bound Jack is down but not out. He's still capable of saving the day, even from a distance.

Telling more would be unfair. What matters is that, unlike last season, the dodges and disasters all feel fairly earned and are, for 24, reasonably restrained.

What that leaves you with is a fabulous outing that makes terrific use of all the tricks the medium has to offer, from the score to the editing, and terrific use of some fine actors, Sutherland chief among them. But it pays to remember what you're getting. 24 is a great TV show, but it's not a great drama, nor does it claim to be.

This isn't The Wire; you don't come to 24 for probing insights into the human condition. You come for the ride, the way it brings Jack, the world or the bad guys to the brink of disaster, makes escape seem impossible, and then arranges an escape. Ratchet up the stakes, repeat.

Its skill is in keeping you interested in the game and fooled by its variations on a theme. And this season, it has once again succeeded in making you want to stick around to see the bad guy punished.

Happily, there's more fun to come, as you'll see from tonight's final twist. And who knows, maybe Jack can even kick that lethal virus.

After all, why can't Jack come back from near death? His show sure has.

Wow only 30 minutes in. This episode has been incredible thus far.

EDIT: In the 24-Universe there should be a rule for all law enforcement officials...if you have a suspect shoot out his knee caps.

There were hints dropped earlier in the season that Tony could turn evil again. It was only a matter of time. But I never expected it at this point. Great twist!
