Life on Mars - "Things to do in New York When you think You're Dead" - 11/6/08

These episode titles are nuts!

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

A black girl is thrown from a rooftop, touching off racial tensions between the black and Puerto Rican communities. Sam works the case with officer Fletcher Bellow, his mentor in 2008, who doesn't know him in 1973. Whoopi Goldberg guest stars.

Sam Tyler "rapping" Ice Ice Baby was, for some reason, one of the funnier things I've seen in a long time. I think the sheer unexpectedness of it made for comedy gold.

What was really great about that scene was that the BLA members actually liked it.

This show is turning into a reunion of "The Wire" actors. (not that I'm complaining). Three in one episode heh.

There was Lester and Cutty, but who was the third one? I must've completely missed it.

Chris Bauer played Frank Sobotka in season 2.

I was actually disappointed that they killed off Clarke Peters before they ever really used him.

Also, I wasn't surprised by him doing the Ice, Ice Baby. I knew he was going to due a famous rap song, and I figured that would be the one since it's the "funniest".

I am seriously into this show...I hope ABC gives it a chance and let's it go for more. But even if it does end at 13, I will be Ok with that.

On a related note, I found a site that has the songs used in each episode (some I have never heard before) and I have constructed a playlist for it in iTunes. Can't beat that one.

I liked Whoopie's role and her performance. She really fit the part.

The young Lawyer chick's legs.
