I purchased a BDP-UP5000 (refurbished) BluRay+HDDVD player in May'08 from "DATAVIS.COM" on their web site they state that this product came with a full one year warranty, after receiving and finding out it only had a 90 day warranty, I contacted them and was informed they would purchase a one year extended warranty for me, then it turned in to they would sell me a three year warranty at cost, but I had to contact a person by the name of Keith to purchase, when ever I would call for this Keith he were never there, and none of the answering reps would assist. and later I was told Keith no longer worked for the company? As of today they are still listing a full one year warranty for this product. To top this off when I registered the product online at Samsung I was to of received ".. an extra 90 days .." of warranty service direct from Samsung, yet the extra days were never added to my warranty!! A week ago the device started making a 'grinding noise' when turned on and has become noisy when doing chapter searches! And do not feel that I should have to pay close to $200.00 {W/Shipping} or half of the price paid for replacement / repair! The resellers web site, look near the bottom of the page, since I contacted them in May'08 they had plenty of time to of corrected the web page error and never did. They claim to be a "Samsung authorized dealer!"!!
What do you feel my next step should be.. Wife says sell on 'eBay' with a notice of working when replaced with profile 2.0 machine buying as is...or the like..
