Have some unexpected family coming to visit and I have no kid-friendly BD films to show.

Any quick recommendations I can run out and rent/buy?

Other than Cars.

Meet the Robinsons is solid.

I also like Surf's Up and Ratatouille.

The Ice Age movies are fun too.

Ones our kids liked (other than Cars):

Surf's Up
Open Season
Ice Age 2
Harry Potter
National Treasure 1 & 2
Eight Below
Nim's Island
Alvin and the Chipmunks

Ratatouille was probably their least favorite of the Pixars.

National Treasures arent rated R? Other than that, please tell me they arent so simplistic a 10 year old could follow them lol

Pan's Labyrinth... but it depends on your children if they can watch it, it's more young adult actually.

Why not? I haven't seen the National Treasure movies, but I was watching Raiders of the Lost Ark when I was younger than that. A 10-year-old isn't that dumb!

Spiderwick Chronicles is pretty good; Enchanted is fun for people of all ages; Ratatouille is excellent, IMO.

Happy Feet
Monster House
Corpse Bride

The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Polar Express are also good, but they're seasonal. It may be too soon to show those.

My daughter gets a kick out of Mr. Magorum's Wonder Emporium. It's a short movie and very visual. Enough to keep the kids occupied while you eat..
