Upcoming MMO's
I'm looking for an alternative to WOW and was wondering if anyone here was planning on playing any of these.
From the developers of City of Heroes, Champions Online looks promising.

The Age of Conan looks pretty good, and it comes out next month.

Stargate Worlds looks good too, I just wonder how successful it can be. Seems like they may be a few years too late for this one.

I haven't tried it, but if your looking for something not too wildly different from WOW, then I'd give the 7 day trial of LOTRO a go (Lord of the Rings Online). Another one that is very different and has a pretty big hardcore following is EVE online. I also thought Tabula Rasa looked interesting as more of a FPS style of combat with RPG elements although it hasn't necessarily received the best press. As a light and relatively cheap diversion there's always Guild Wars which has no subscription and has a quite entertaining combat system where you're limited to 8 skills.
The problem with diving into a brand new MMO is that you're often looking at a 2-6 month window where they fix bugs and server instability. Also, you might find yourself signed up to an MMO that's dead out of the gate (like a Vanguard) and you're out, $40-60 that you paid for the boxed copy.
Anyway, a lot of MMOs have a trial version so it doesn't hurt to check a few different ones out.

Age of Conan looks promising, but I'm more interested in Warhammer Online.

I'm in the Mythos beta and it's pretty fun, pretty much a cross between WoW and Diablo I/II. The final game will be free to play (business model is similar to Battlefield Heroes), so that helps too.

Champions Online looks great. It seems to bring forward the things I liked about City of Heroes while fixing some of the problems. Also, apparently PC and 360 owners will be able to play together on the same server, which is pretty cool.

The Agency wouldn't appeal to me because of its shooter aspects. I wouldn't be good at it and would get frustrated at some Korean always head shooting me.
