Sword and the Sorcerer: Tales of the Ancient Empire is being made

I love this movie and was always bummed that that sequel never came. When the credits start to roll after Sword and the Sorcerer it says "Watch for Talons next adventure: Tales of the Ancient Empire". And now after 25 years..good lord, it is being made. I hope Lee Horsely climbs on board.

KINGDOMS TO SAVE AND WOMEN TO LOVE!!

Damn, has it been 25 years. This was probably the best movie of its genre that I've seen.

"I have no quarrel with you."
"Cromwell is mine!"
"Now we have a quarrel."

In Pyun’s words, “It’s got a sexy sorceress, hordes of demonic vampires, a giant serpent, sea pirates, nasty sword (and axe, spear, leg of cow) fights and gore and nudity galore. Everything that a rousing adventure needs to have.”
Pyun plans to make it as a true, hard R rated film.

I'm there.

WTH?
Why don't they just call this "The Over-the-Hill Barbarians Ride Again"?

It's not a real sequel, just a movie in the same genre.

I'm wondering if they'll bring back the triple bladed sword. The nerdy kid inside of me who watched it in the theater loves the idea, but I have to admit it was a stupid weapon.

The original movie made as much money as Conan did back when they were released both made about 39 Million which in 1982 was a huge hit, even though the production values were a lot lower than Conan. I have always had a soft spot for this movie. I just wish there was a better DVD out for it. The current one is really hard to watch.

I will check out the new one if and when it ever gets made.

It can't be any worse than The Scorpion King 2.

Re: Sword and the Sorcerer: Tales of the Ancient Empire is being made

Kinda bummed about Horsley not being in it, but just as long as the 3 bladed sword gets some screen time I'll be happy....I think.

Well i did some research. I could've sworn I read somewhere that Horsley was out, but can't find any solid evidence of that. So my mistake...which is good news

The imdb board credits Horsley as "King Talon" so hopefully that stays true.
