Best Filmation series?

I watched Star Trek : the Animated Series and I really enjoyed it.

I am thinking of picking up the Flash Gordon series, which has very good reviews.

Are there any other filmation series of the same quality?

I didn't watch them as a kid, so they won't have the 'nostalgia' factor for me.

I know they did some Batman/Superman stuff. Is that as good as the modern Justice League series?

My memories of these shows are pretty hazy, but I think Flash Gordon would be a logical next choice. I've been thinking of picking it up myself, but haven't gotten around to it.

Check youtube for samples of Flash & other filmation series.

I remember Filmation's Tarzan cartoon having a similar tone, but I don't know if that's coming to DVD.

The 60's DC cartoons have a goofy, low-budget charm - even though Ted Knight seems to do about 70% of the voices, but the stories are totally nonsensical & very short. They're colorful fun & I dig 'em, but very much for children.

The recently released 70's Batman cartoon, however, is horrendous.

Is the Aquaman series for little kids, or is it more for young adults/adults?.

Well i picked up the Space Sentinels/Freedom Force DVD and i liked it. I grew up watching the very few Space Sentinels episodes and always loved that show. Freedom Force was new to me. I also got my hands on the Defenders of the Earth TV series and really like that. In fact i have a brand new copy of the second series going cheap on my DVD sales thread if you are interested.

I've just seen He-Man in Filmation, but it's still one of my favorites.

Aquaman is just like the 60's Batman & Superman cartoons only less fun because it's Aquaman (along with Aqualad & Tusky the walrus).

Not on dvd(yet), my favorite from my youth was the 1968 animated version of Fantastic Voyage.
