Where can I order CDs and DVDs and have them on release day?
I like to pick up the albums I want on release day but I live in a small town and Best Buy and other record stores are 30-40 minutes away. I also work the night shift and get off at 7:30 AM. Best Buy doesn't open until 10. It has gotten ot be a hassle for me to pick up new music. If I order from Amazon I don't get it in the mail until friday or sometimes monday or tuesday of the next week. I know there is a site out there somewhere that can get it to me by tuesday or wednesday.
Thanks

CVS has 1 or 2 new releases every week; not much of a selection though. I don't know of any online retailers that are allowed to mail them out before release day. Blockbuster maybe if you live near one.

No clue for CDs but DVDEmpire has almost always had my pre-orders to me before or on release day. If not, then it's usually the day after street date. The same goes for DVDPlanet and *oddly enough* DDD the last time that I used them. Of course, YMMV depending on where you live, shipping method, etc.

I ordered 4 dvd's from amazon, all preorders, in hopes they would send them early. So far 2 have shipped (newsradio S5 & Tom goes to the mayor) and neither came early. I have 2 left (columbo 1989 collection & king of queens S8) to ship and I am still hoping to get them at least the day of if not before.

Try Amazon with prime. I always get my DVD's on release date, but that's generally because prime takes a day to get to me. You can look at it this way, if you order enough, prime essentially becomes sales tax.
