On Sunday I noticed at my local Best Buy that they had the regular editions of Mystic River and The Lost Boys on sale for $4.99, but my store only has the 3-disc and 2-disc versions in stock and therefore they gave those to me for $4.99 each.

those were the sale prices a few weeks ago with the b1g1 sale. btw, whats all this ymmv and op stuff? i have come to the conclusion that op is for iriginal poster, am i right?

I saw the 2-disc Lost Boys at my BB and they had the $4.99 shelf hanger in front of them. Though, there were plenty of Snap Case Mystic River DVD's.
