[Dead] Sandisk memory cards at Costco
The Sandisk Ultra II 1 GB SD card is $46.99 - $19.00 instant rebate = $27.99 pay at cashier (minus $20 mail-in rebate = $7.99 final price), limit 3, good until 12/30/06.
They also had price drops on the 2 GB SD, and compact flash cards and USB drives but the discounts were smaller.

One great thing I just found is that Costco lets you submit rebate requests online (except when the rebate is from the manufacturers). Just type in some info from the receipt and you are done. If you are like me and often forget to send in for the rebate until it's too late, this is a big plus.

Within each type and brand, there can be several "grades": For Sandisk, they are basic, Ultra II and Extreme III (There is a IV that just came out, but I think only in Asia). The higher the grade, the faster and more durable (for temperature and humidity). I usually buy the Ultra when it's on sale.
You should check your camera manual to see which type you need. Sandisk has this site to help you choose. What brand/model do you have?

Can someone verify if its the same rebate for the 2GB SD?
All the Costco website say is:
Online price $84.99
Less coupon -$32.00
YOUR COST
$52.99

The online and in-store prices at Costco are not always the same, although in this case I think they were close. There was no mail-in rebate for the 2 GB, and after the instant rebate it was around $45-50. That's why I got two 1 GB cards instead of one 2 GB card.

To buy at their stores, yes. They check cards when you go in, and you have to present your card to the cashier. I don't think you need to be a member to buy online but I am not sure. The prices can be different between in store and online though.

That is a great deal since I just paided $70 for this same card at Circuit City. Well I am off to return the the one to Circuit City and then to Costco for about the 4th time this week. Thanks for the post.

I got the instant discount and submitted for the mail-in rebate online, and the check is already on its way. Costco is fast. I haven't been back to the store yet since we still have food from Christmas.
X, can you add [Dead} to the thread header so people don't waste their time? Thanks.
